2011-09-14ASoC: Samsung: Update DMA interfaceBoojin Kim
This patch adds to support the DMA PL330 driver that uses DMA generic API. Samsung sound driver uses DMA generic API if architecture supports it. Otherwise, use samsung specific S3C-PL330 API driver to transfer PCM data. 2011-09-14spi/s3c64xx: Merge dma control codeBoojin Kim
This patch modifies to merge the dma control code. Original s3c64xx spi driver has each dma control code for rx and tx channel. This patch merges these dma control codes into one. With this patch, a dma setup function and callback function handle for both rx and tx channel. 2011-09-14ARM: SAMSUNG: Add common DMA operationsBoojin Kim
This patch adds common DMA operations which are used for Samsung DMA drivers. Currently there are two types of DMA driver for Samsung SoCs. The one is S3C-DMA for S3C SoCs and the other is PL330-DMA for S5P SoCs. This patch provides funcion pointers for common DMA operations to DMA client driver like SPI and Audio. It makes DMA client drivers support multi-platform. In addition, this common DMA operations implement the shared actions that are needed for DMA client driver. For example shared actions are filter() function for dma_request_channel() and parameter passing for device_prep_slave_sg(). 2011-09-05dmaengine: amba-pl08x: make filter check that the channel is owned by pl08xRussell King - ARM Linux
Before converting the dma channel to our private data structure, first check that the channel is indeed one which our driver registered. We do this by ensuring that the underlying device is bound to our driver. This avoids potential oopses if we try to reference 'plchan->name' against a foreign drivers dma channel. 2011-08-29dmaengine i.MX SDMA: use request_firmware_nowaitSascha Hauer
The firmware blob may not be available when the driver probes. Instead of blocking the whole kernel use request_firmware_nowait() and continue without firmware. The ROM scripts can already be used then if available. For the devicetree case the ROM scripts are not available, still the probe function should not block. The driver will be unusable in this case, but we have no way of detecting this properly. The configuration of the dma channels will fail, so nothing bad should happen. 2011-08-25drivers/rtc/rtc-s3c.c: allow multiple open / allow no-ioctl-open'ed rtc to ↵MyungJoo Ham
have irq. The previous rtc-s3c had two issues related with its IRQ. 1. Users cannot open rtc multiple times because an open operation calls request_irq on the same IRQ. (e.g., two user processes wants to open and read RTC time from rtc-s3c at the same time) 2. If alarm is set and no one has the rtc opened with filesystem (either the alarm is set by kernel/boot-loader or user set an alarm and closed rtc dev file), the pending bit is not cleared and no further interrupt is invoked. When the alarm is used by the system itself such as a resume from suspend-to-RAM or other Low-power modes/idle, this is a critical issue. This patch mitigates these issues by calling request_irq at probe and free_irq at remove. 2011-08-25memcg: fix hierarchical oom lockingJohannes Weiner
Commit 79dfdaccd1d5 ("memcg: make oom_lock 0 and 1 based rather than counter") tried to oom lock the hierarchy and roll back upon encountering an already locked memcg. The code is confused when it comes to detecting a locked memcg, though, so it would fail and rollback after locking one memcg and encountering an unlocked second one. The result is that oom-locking hierarchies fails unconditionally and that every oom killer invocation simply goes to sleep on the oom waitqueue forever. The tasks practically hang forever without anyone intervening, possibly holding locks that trip up unrelated tasks, too.
