2010-05-06Davinci: support LPSC SwRstDisable stateCyril Chemparathy
The current clock control code always gates the clock (PSC state Disable = 2) on clk_disable(). Some on-chip peripherals (e.g. LCD controller on TNETV107X) need to be put into SwRstDisable = 0 on clock disable, to maintain hardware sanity. This patch extends the davinci_psc_config() arguments to pass in the desired module state instead of a boolean enable/disable. Further, clk_disable() now checks for the PSC_SWRSTDISABLE clk flag before selecting the target state. 2010-05-06davinci: misc cleanups from sparseKevin Hilman
- Convert data/functions to static - include headers for missing declarations - pointer cleanups: struct foo *__iomem f --> struct foo __iomem *f; Signed-off-by: Kevin Hilman <khilman@deeprootsystems.com>
2010-02-04davinci: clkdev cleanup: remove clk_lookup wrapper, use clkdev_add_table()Kevin Hilman
Remove unneeded 'struct davinci_clk' wrapper around 'struct clk_lookup' and use clkdev_add_table() to add the list of clocks in one go. Signed-off-by: Kevin Hilman <khilman@deeprootsystems.com>
2010-02-04davinci: clock: let clk->set_rate function sleepSekhar Nori
When supporting I2C/SPI based on-board PLLs like CDCE949, it is essential that clk->set_rate be able to sleep. Currently, this is not possible because clk->set_rate is called from within spin-lock in clk_set_rate This patch brings clk->set_rate outside of the spin-lock and lets the individual set_rate implementations achieve serialization through appropiate means. 2010-02-04davinci: clock: Check CLK_PSC flag before disabling PSCChaithrika U S
Some modules do not have PSC to control their clocks. The 'lpsc' field in the clk structure is 0 for such clocks. In the clock disable function check for CLK PSC flag before disabling the PSC. If this is not taken care of then it may so happen that module controlled by LPSC 0 is erroneously disabled. 2010-02-04davinci: move /proc/davinci_clocks to debugfsSekhar Nori
Move /proc/davinci_clocks to /sys/kernel/debug/davinci_clocks (debugfs). debugfs is more suited for this since the clock dump is debug information. Signed-off-by: Sekhar Nori <nsekhar@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Kevin Hilman <khilman@deeprootsystems.com>
2010-02-04davinci: make /proc/davinci_clocks display multi-rooted clock treeSekhar Nori
This patch modifies clock dump to take care of clock tress rooted at multiple oscillators. Current code assumes the entire tree is rooted on a single oscillator. When using off-chip clock synthesizers, some of the clocks can be obtained from a different on-board oscillator. 2010-02-04davinci: move PLL wait time values to clock.hSekhar Nori
As suspend support is added, the code supporting the suspend operation needs to bypass PLLs and needs to access the same wait time values as the PLL code in clock.c. To facilitate this, move the PLL wait times to clock.h where they can be accessed by suspend code. 2009-11-25DaVinci: remove unneeded #include'sSergei Shtylyov
There have accumulated quite a lot of them after the code reorganizations... In several cases I had to replace #include <linux/dma-mapping.h> which wasn't needed directly but happened to #include <linux/err.h> which was needed. 2009-11-25davinci: DA8xx: rename 'psc_ctlr' field into 'gpsc'Sergei Shtylyov
Replace badly chosen 'psc_ctlr' name of the 'struct clk' field (PSC already means "Power and Sleep Controller", so the '_ctlr' postfix makes the name tautological) with technically correct 'gpsc' (Global PSC -- which contains all the module registers). 2009-11-25davinci: support re-parenting a clock in the clock frameworkSekhar Nori
The clk_set_parent() API is implemented to enable re-parenting clocks in the clock tree. This is useful in DVFS and helps by shifting clocks to an asynchronous domain where supported by hardware Signed-off-by: Sekhar Nori <nsekhar@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Kevin Hilman <khilman@deeprootsystems.com>
2009-11-25davinci: support changing the clock rate in clock frameworkSekhar Nori
clk_round_rate, clk_set_rate have been updated to handle dynamic frequency changes. The motivation behind the changes is to support dynamic CPU frequency change. davinci_set_pllrate() changes the PLL rate of a given PLL. This function has been presented as a generic function though it has been tested only on OMAP-L138 EVM. No other currently available DaVinci device will probably use this function, but any future device specific changes will hopefully be small enough to get taken care using a cpu_is_xxx() macro. 2009-11-25davinci: make clock rate re-calculation easySekhar Nori
Make clock rate recalculation easy by having a re-calculate function for each clock. The existing functions for calculation of output rates of PLL and PLL-derived sysclks have been convered to the new re-calculate API. A new function is introduced to take care of rate (re)calculation for leaf clocks. Signed-off-by: Sekhar Nori <nsekhar@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Kevin Hilman <khilman@deeprootsystems.com>
2009-11-25davinci: enable easy top down traversal of clock treeSekhar Nori
Achieve easy top down traversal of clock tree by keeping track of each clock's list of children. This is useful in supporting DVFS where clock rates of all children need to be updated in an efficient manner. 2009-05-26davinci: Add support for multiple PSCsMark A. Greer
The current code to support the DaVinci Power and Sleep Controller (PSC) assumes that there is only one controller. This assumption is no longer valid so expand the support to allow greater than one PSC. To accomplish this, put the base addresses for the PSCs in the SoC infrastructure so it can be referenced by the PSC code. This also requires adding an extra parameter to davinci_psc_config() to specify the PSC that is to be enabled/disabled. Signed-off-by: Mark A. 2009-04-23davinci: major rework of clock, PLL, PSC infrastructureKevin Hilman
This is a significant rework of the low-level clock, PLL and Power Sleep Controller (PSC) implementation for the DaVinci family. The primary goal is to have better modeling if the hardware clocks and features with the aim of DVFS functionality. Highlights: - model PLLs and all PLL-derived clocks - model parent/child relationships of PLLs and clocks - convert to new clkdev layer - view clock frequency and refcount via /proc/davinci_clocks Special thanks to significant contributions and testing by David Brownell. 2009-02-27usb: musb: make Davinci *work* in mainlineDavid Brownell
Now that the musb build fixes for DaVinci got merged (RC3?), kick in the other bits needed to get it finally *working* in mainline: - Use clk_enable()/clk_disable() ... the "always enable USB clocks" code this originally relied on has since been removed. - Initialize the USB device only after the relevant I2C GPIOs are available, so the host side can properly enable VBUS. - Tweak init sequencing to cope with mainline's relatively late init of the I2C system bus for power switches, transceivers, and so on. Sanity tested on DM6664 EVM for host and peripheral modes; that system won't boot with CONFIG_PM enabled, so OTG can't yet be tested. Also verified on OMAP3. (Unrelated: correct the MODULE_PARM_DESC spelling of musb_debug.)
