2013-06-03can: flexcan: remove HAVE_CAN_FLEXCAN Kconfig symbolMarc Kleine-Budde
This patch removes the Kconfig symbol HAVE_CAN_FLEXCAN from arch/{arm,powerpc} and allowing compilation unconditionally on all arm and powerpc platforms. This brings a bigger compile time coverage and removes the following dependency warning found by Arnd Bergmann: warning: (SOC_IMX28 && SOC_IMX25 && SOC_IMX35 && IMX_HAVE_PLATFORM_FLEXCAN && SOC_IMX53 && SOC_IMX6Q) selects HAVE_CAN_FLEXCAN which has unmet direct dependencies (NET && CAN && CAN_DEV) Acked-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Acked-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org> Acked-by: Shawn Guo <shawn.guo@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Marc Kleine-Budde <mkl@pengutronix.de>

Changes include: - SMP support for the Xilinx zynq platform - Smaller imx changes - LPAE support for mvebu - Moving the orion5x, kirkwood, dove and mvebu platforms to a common "mbus" driver for their internal devices. It would be good to get feedback on the location of the "mbus" driver. Since this is used on multiple platforms may potentially get shared with other architectures (powerpc and arm64), it was moved to drivers/bus/. 2013-04-09ARM: Push selects for TWD/SCU into machine entriesStephen Boyd
The TWD and SCU configs are selected by default as long as MSM_SCORPIONMP is false and/or MCT is false. Implementing the logic this way certainly saves lines in the Kconfig but it precludes those machines which select MSM_SCORPIONMP or MCT from participating in the single zImage effort because when those machines are combined with other SMP capable machines the TWD and SCU are no longer selected by default. Push the select out to the machine entries so that we can compile these machines together and still select the appropriate configs. Pull ARM SoC cleanups from Arnd Bergmann: "A large number of cleanups, all over the platforms. This is dominated largely by the Samsung platforms (s3c, s5p, exynos) and a few of the others moving code out of arch/arm into more appropriate subsystems. The clocksource and irqchip drivers are now abstracted to the point where platforms that are already cleaned up do not need to even specify the driver they use, it can all get configured from the device tree as we do for normal device drivers. The clocksource changes basically touch every single platform in the process. We further clean up the use of platform specific header files here, with the goal of turning more of the platforms over to being "multiplatform" enabled, which implies that they cannot expose their headers to architecture independent code any more. It is expected that no functional changes are part of the cleanup. The overall reduction in total code lines is mostly the result of removing broken and obsolete code." * tag 'cleanup' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (133 commits) ARM: mvebu: correct gated clock documentation ARM: kirkwood: add missing include for nsa310 ARM: exynos: move exynos4210-combiner to drivers/irqchip mfd: db8500-prcmu: update resource passing drivers/db8500-cpufreq: delete dangling include ARM: at91: remove NEOCORE 926 board sunxi: Cleanup the reset code and add meaningful registers defines ARM: S3C24XX: header mach/regs-mem.h local ARM: S3C24XX: header mach/regs-power.h local ARM: S3C24XX: header mach/regs-s3c2412-mem.h local ARM: S3C24XX: Remove plat-s3c24xx directory in arch/arm/ ARM: S3C24XX: transform s3c2443 subirqs into new structure ARM: S3C24XX: modify s3c2443 irq init to initialize all irqs ARM: S3C24XX: move s3c2443 irq code to irq.c ARM: S3C24XX: transform s3c2416 irqs into new structure ARM: S3C24XX: modify s3c2416 irq init to initialize all irqs ARM: S3C24XX: move s3c2416 irq init to common irq code ARM: S3C24XX: Modify s3c_irq_wake to use the hwirq property ARM: S3C24XX: Move irq syscore-ops to irq-pm clocksource: always define CLOCKSOURCE_OF_DECLARE ...

2012-10-23ARM: imx: select HAVE_IMX_SRC when SMP is enabledShawn Guo
With being part of multi-platform support, SMP can be enabled by other platform even when SOC_IMX6Q is deselected. It leads to a situation that arch/arm/mach-imx/platsmp.c is built without HAVE_IMX_SRC selection which will cause build error. For example, the following link errors will be seen when building imx5 with other v7 platforms. arch/arm/mach-imx/built-in.o: In function `imx_cpu_die': platform-ahci-imx.c:(.text+0x219c): undefined reference to `imx_enable_cpu' arch/arm/mach-imx/built-in.o: In function `imx_boot_secondary': platform-ahci-imx.c:(.cpuinit.text+0x14): undefined reference to `imx_set_cpu_jump' platform-ahci-imx.c:(.cpuinit.text+0x20): undefined reference to `imx_enable_cpu' Select HAVE_IMX_SRC as long as SMP is enabled to fix the problem. 2012-10-19ARM: mach-imx: Fix selection of ARCH_MXCFabio Estevam
Since commit c5a0d497(ARM: imx: enable multi-platform build), ARCH_MXC is selected by the following logic: config ARCH_MXC def_bool y if ARCH_MULTI_V4_V5 || ARCH_MULTI_V6_V7 , which causes build error on vexpress_defconfig: arch/arm/mach-imx/hotplug.c:49: undefined reference to `imx_enable_cpu' arch/arm/mach-imx/platsmp.c:57: undefined reference to `imx_set_cpu_jump' arch/arm/mach-imx/platsmp.c:58: undefined reference to `imx_enable_cpu' Make ARCH_MXC a user selectable option, so that it does not get built by default on other defconfigs that select ARCH_MULTI_V4_V5 or ARCH_MULTI_V6_V7. 2012-10-15ARM: imx: enable multi-platform buildShawn Guo
It enables multi-platform build for imx. With ARCH_MULTI_* options coming to play, ARCH_MXC becomes an user invisible option, while ARCH_IMX_V4_V5 and ARCH_IMX_V6_V7 get removed. Both imx_v4_v5_defconfig and imx_v6_v7_defconfig get updated to adopt the changes. AUTO_ZRELADDR and ARM_PATCH_PHYS_VIRT are selected by ARCH_MXC now to save the duplication. Headers timex.h and uncompress.h are not needed for multi-platform build. Remove them. Signed-off-by: Shawn Guo <shawn.guo@linaro.org>
2012-10-15ARM: imx: merge plat-mxc into mach-imxShawn Guo
It's really unnecessary to have plat-mxc, and let's merge it into mach-imx. It's pretty much just a bunch of file renaming and Kconfig/Makefile merge. To make the change less invasive, we keep using Kconfig symbol CONFIG_ARCH_MXC for mach-imx sub-architecture. 2012-10-15ARM: imx: move platform device code into mach-imxShawn Guo
It moves platform device code from plat-mxc into mach-imx. Along with that, header devices-common.h gets moved from plat-mxc/include/mach/ into mach-imx/devices/. Signed-off-by: Shawn Guo <shawn.guo@linaro.org> Acked-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de> Acked-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>

2012-10-13ARM: config: sort select statements alphanumericallyRussell King
As suggested by Andrew Morton: This is a pet peeve of mine. Any time there's a long list of items (header file inclusions, kconfig entries, array initalisers, etc) and someone wants to add a new item, they *always* go and stick it at the end of the list. Guys, don't do this. Either put the new item into a randomly-chosen position or, probably better, alphanumerically sort the list. lets sort all our select statements alphanumerically. This commit was created by the following perl: while (<>) { while (/\\\s*$/) { $_ .= <>; } undef %selects if /^\s*config\s+/; if (/^\s+select\s+(\w+).*/) { if (defined($selects{$1})) { if ($selects{$1} eq $_) { print STDERR "Warning: removing duplicated $1 entry\n"; } else { print STDERR "Error: $1 differently selected\n". "\tOld: $selects{$1}\n". "\tNew: $_\n"; exit 1; } } $selects{$1} = $_; next; } if (%selects and (/^\s*$/ or /^\s+help/ or /^\s+---help---/ or /^endif/ or /^endchoice/)) { foreach $k (sort (keys %selects)) { print "$selects{$k}"; } undef %selects; } print; } if (%selects) { foreach $k (sort (keys %selects)) { print "$selects{$k}"; } } It found two duplicates: Warning: removing duplicated S5P_SETUP_MIPIPHY entry Warning: removing duplicated HARDIRQS_SW_RESEND entry and they are identical duplicates, hence the shrinkage in the diffstat of two lines.
