2013-02-21Merge tag 'cleanup' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-socLinus Torvalds
Pull ARM SoC cleanups from Arnd Bergmann: "A large number of cleanups, all over the platforms. This is dominated largely by the Samsung platforms (s3c, s5p, exynos) and a few of the others moving code out of arch/arm into more appropriate subsystems. The clocksource and irqchip drivers are now abstracted to the point where platforms that are already cleaned up do not need to even specify the driver they use, it can all get configured from the device tree as we do for normal device drivers. The clocksource changes basically touch every single platform in the process. We further clean up the use of platform specific header files here, with the goal of turning more of the platforms over to being "multiplatform" enabled, which implies that they cannot expose their headers to architecture independent code any more. It is expected that no functional changes are part of the cleanup. The overall reduction in total code lines is mostly the result of removing broken and obsolete code." * tag 'cleanup' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (133 commits) ARM: mvebu: correct gated clock documentation ARM: kirkwood: add missing include for nsa310 ARM: exynos: move exynos4210-combiner to drivers/irqchip mfd: db8500-prcmu: update resource passing drivers/db8500-cpufreq: delete dangling include ARM: at91: remove NEOCORE 926 board sunxi: Cleanup the reset code and add meaningful registers defines ARM: S3C24XX: header mach/regs-mem.h local ARM: S3C24XX: header mach/regs-power.h local ARM: S3C24XX: header mach/regs-s3c2412-mem.h local ARM: S3C24XX: Remove plat-s3c24xx directory in arch/arm/ ARM: S3C24XX: transform s3c2443 subirqs into new structure ARM: S3C24XX: modify s3c2443 irq init to initialize all irqs ARM: S3C24XX: move s3c2443 irq code to irq.c ARM: S3C24XX: transform s3c2416 irqs into new structure ARM: S3C24XX: modify s3c2416 irq init to initialize all irqs ARM: S3C24XX: move s3c2416 irq init to common irq code ARM: S3C24XX: Modify s3c_irq_wake to use the hwirq property ARM: S3C24XX: Move irq syscore-ops to irq-pm clocksource: always define CLOCKSOURCE_OF_DECLARE ...

2013-02-15ARM: imx: MACH_MX31ADS_WM1133_EV1 needs REGULATOR_WM8350Arnd Bergmann
MACH_MX31ADS_WM1133_EV1 already depends on REGULATOR_WM8350, but that still allows REGULATOR_WM8350 to be a loadable module. Depending on REGULATOR_WM8350 to be built-in ensures we cannot create a broken configuration. 2013-02-05ARM: i.MX25: clk: parent per5_clk to AHB clockSteffen Trumtrar
The mxc-timer on the imx25 needs to be derived from the AHB clock. If a bootloader reparents this clock to the ipg_clk_highfreq, which according to the datasheet is a valid operation, the system can/will produce lockups/ freezes after some time [1]. This can be forced with code like while(1) syscall(SYS_clock_gettime, CLOCK_REALTIME, &tp); This was already fixed with the commit "i.MX25 GPT clock fix: ensure correct the clock source" [2], for 3.1-rc2, but was lost, when i.MX was converted to the common clock framework ("ARM i.MX25: implement clocks using common clock framework") [3] [1]: http://lists.arm.linux.org.uk/lurker/message/20130129.161230.229bda17.en.html [2]: 2012d9ca2a1381ae3e733330a7f0d1d2f1988bba [3]: 6bbaec5676e4f475b0d78743cbd4c70a8804ce14 Signed-off-by: Steffen Trumtrar <s.trumtrar@pengutronix.de> Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org # v3.5+ Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>

2013-01-30ARM: imx: return zero in case next event gets a large incrementShawn Guo
The return of v2_set_next_event() will lead to an infinite loop in tick_handle_oneshot_broadcast() - "goto again;" with imx6q WAIT mode (to be enabled). This happens because when global event did not expire any CPU local events, the broadcast device will be rearmed to a CPU local next_event, which could be far away from now and result in a max_delta_tick programming in set_next_event(). Fix the problem by detecting those next events with increments larger than 0x7fffffff, and simply return zero in that case. It leaves mx1_2_set_next_event() unchanged since only v2_set_next_event() will be running with imx6q WAIT mode support. Thanks Russell King for helping understand the problem. 2013-01-14ARM: use clockevents_config_and_register() where possibleShawn Guo
The clockevent core is able to figure out the best mult and shift, calculate min_delta_ns and max_delta_ns, with the necessary info passed into clockevents_config_and_register(). Use this combined configure and register function where possible to make the codes less error prone and gain some positive diff stat. 2013-01-14ARM: imx: correct low-power mode settingShawn Guo
The hardware reset value of bit CCM_CLPCR_LPM enables WAIT mode (WAIT_UNCLOCKED) by default. However this is undesirable because WAIT mode should only be enabled when there is a driver managing ARM clock gating. Correct the initial power mode to WAIT_CLOCKED (disable WAIT mode). While at it, the power mode after resuming is also set back to WAIT_CLOCKED from STOP_POWER_OFF. Signed-off-by: Shawn Guo <shawn.guo@linaro.org>
2013-01-14ARM: imx: disable cpu in .cpu_kill hookShawn Guo
It's buggy to disable the cpu that is being hot-unplugged in .cpu_die hook which runs on the cpu itself. Instead, it should be done in .cpu_kill which runs on the thread (another cpu) that asks for shutting down the cpu. Move imx_enable_cpu(cpu, false) call into .cpu_kill hook, and leave the cpu to be hot-unplugged in WFI within .cpu_die, so that we can get a more stable cpu hot-plug operation. 2012-12-24ARM: delete struct sys_timerStephen Warren
Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself. This will enable moving timer drivers into drivers/clocksource without having to place a public prototype of each struct sys_timer object into include/linux; the intent is to create a single of_clocksource_init() function that determines which timer driver to initialize by scanning the device dtree, much like the proposed irqchip_init() at: http://www.spinics.net/lists/arm-kernel/msg203686.html Includes mach-omap2 fixes from Igor Grinberg. 2012-12-17ARM i.MX51 clock: Fix regression since enabling MIPI/HSP clocksSascha Hauer
The MIPI/HSP clocks were recently turned on in the i.MX51 clock tree. It turned out that the system does not work properly when the MIPI/HSP clocks are enabled, but the IPU clock is disabled. This happens when IPU support is disabled. In this case the IPU clock gets disabled when the clock framework turns off unused clock in a late_initcall. This is broken since: | commit 9a2d4825a9368e018003a2732a61be063d178f67 | Author: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de> | Date: Tue Jun 5 13:53:32 2012 +0200 | | ARM i.MX5: switch IPU clk support to devicetree bindings | | The i.MX5 clk support has platform based clock bindings for the | IPU. IPU support is devicetree only, so move them over to devicetree | based bindings. Also, enable MIPI clocks which do not have a device | associated with, but still need to be enabled to do graphics on | i.MX51.
