2015-01-21ARM: 8271/1: omap1: Migrate debug_ll macros to use 8250.SDaniel Thompson
The omap1's debug-macro.S is similar to the generic 8250 code. Compared to the 8520 code the omap1 macro automatically determines what UART to use based on breadcrumbs left by the bootloader and automatically copes with the eccentric register layout on OMAP7XX. This patch drops both these features and relies instead on the generic 8250 macros: 1. Dropping support for the bootloader breadcrumbs is identical to the way the migration was handled for OMAP2 (see 808b7e07464d...). 2. Support for OMAP7XX still exists but it must be configured by hand (DEBUG_OMAP7XXUART1/2/3) rather than handled at runtime. 2014-07-29ARM: 8113/1: remove remaining definitions of PLAT_PHYS_OFFSET from ↵Uwe Kleine-König
<mach/memory.h> The platforms selecting NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H defined the start address of their physical memory in the respective <mach/memory.h>. With ARM_PATCH_PHYS_VIRT=y (which is quite common today) this is useless though because the definition isn't used but determined dynamically. So remove the definitions from all <mach/memory.h> and provide the Kconfig symbol PHYS_OFFSET with the respective defaults in case ARM_PATCH_PHYS_VIRT isn't enabled. This allows to drop the dependency of PHYS_OFFSET on !NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H which prevents compiling an integrator nommu-kernel. (CONFIG_PAGE_OFFSET which has "default PHYS_OFFSET if !MMU" expanded to "0x" because CONFIG_PHYS_OFFSET doesn't exist as INTEGRATOR selects NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H.) 2014-02-18Merge tag 'dropmachtimexh-v2' of git://git.pengutronix.de/git/ukl/linux into ↵Olof Johansson
next/cleanup This cleanup series gets rid of <mach/timex.h> for platforms not using ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM. (For multi-platform code it's already unused since 387798b (ARM: initial multiplatform support).) To make this work some code out of arch/arm needed to be adapted. The respective changes got acks by their maintainers to be taken via armsoc (with Andrew Morton substituting for Alessandro Zummo as rtc maintainer). Compared to the previous pull request there was another patch added that fixes a (non-critical) regression on ixp4xx. Olof Johansson asked to not squash this fix into the original commit to save him from the need to reverify the series. * tag 'dropmachtimexh-v2' of git://git.pengutronix.de/git/ukl/linux: ARM: ixp4xx: fix timer latch calculation ARM: drop <mach/timex.h> for !ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM, too ARM: rpc: stop using <mach/timex.h> ARM: ixp4xx: stop using <mach/timex.h> input: ixp4xx-beeper: don't use symbols from <mach/timex.h> ARM: at91: don't use <mach/timex.h> ARM: ep93xx: stop using mach/timex.h ARM: mmp: stop using mach/timex.h ARM: netx: stop using mach/timex.h ARM: sa1100: stop using mach/timex.h clocksource: sirf/marco+prima2: drop usage of CLOCK_TICK_RATE rtc: pxa: drop unused #define TIMER_FREQ rtc: at91sam9: include <mach/hardware.h> explicitly ARM/serial: at91: switch atmel serial to use gpiolib Signed-off-by: Olof Johansson <olof@lixom.net>

2012-10-31ARM: OMAP1: Remove relative includesTony Lindgren
As discussed on linux-arm-kernel, we want to avoid relative includes for the arch/arm/*omap* code: http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-omap/msg80520.html Note that eventually when the omap1 specific drivers are fixed to not use cpu_is_omap macros and not depend on mach/hardware.h, this patch can be reverted and these headers can be local. But since just fixing the drivers for omap2+ is already a big enough hassle, let's deal with that properly first. 2012-10-18ARM: OMAP: Split plat/cpu.h into local soc.h for mach-omap1 and mach-omap2Tony Lindgren
We want to remove plat/cpu.h. To do this, let's first split it to private soc.h to mach-omap1 and mach-omap2. We have to keep plat/cpu.h around until the remaining drivers are fixed, so let's include the local soc.h in plat/cpu.h and for drivers still including plat/cpu.h. Once the drivers are fixed not to include plat/cpu.h, we can remove the file. This is needed for the ARM common zImage support. 2012-10-17ARM: OMAP: Make plat/fpga.h local to arch/arm/plat-omapTony Lindgren
There's no need to have this file in plat/fpga.h. We can make it local to plat-omap replacing fpga_read/write functions directly with readb/writeb as that's how they are already defined in fpga.h. Note that 2420 based H4 is also using the fpga, so let's keep the led support around in plat-omap until we flip over mach-omap2 to device tree. 2012-09-12ARM: OMAP: Split plat/hardware.h, use local soc.h for omap2+Tony Lindgren
As the plat and mach includes need to disappear for single zImage work, we need to remove plat/hardware.h. Do this by splitting plat/hardware.h into omap1 and omap2+ specific files. The old plat/hardware.h already has omap1 only defines, so it gets moved to mach/hardware.h for omap1. For omap2+, we use the local soc.h that for now just includes the related SoC headers to keep this patch more readable. Note that the local soc.h still includes plat/cpu.h that can be dealt with in later patches. Let's also include plat/serial.h from common.h for all the board-*.c files. This allows making the include files local later on without patching these files again. Note that only minimal changes are done in this patch for the drivers/watchdog/omap_wdt.c driver to keep things compiling. Further patches are needed to eventually remove cpu_is_omap usage in the drivers. Also only minimal changes are done to sound/soc/omap/* to remove the unneeded includes and to define OMAP44XX_MCPDM_L3_BASE locally so there's no need to include omap44xx.h. While at it, also sort some of the includes in the standard way. 2012-04-05ARM: fix __io macro for PCMCIARob Herring
With commit c334bc1 (ARM: make mach/io.h include optional), PCMCIA was broken. PCMCIA depends on __io() returning a valid i/o address, and most ARM platforms require IO_SPACE_LIMIT be set to 0xffffffff for PCMCIA. This needs a better fix with a fixed i/o address mapping, but for now we just restore things to the previous behavior. This fixes at91, omap1, pxa and sa11xx. pxa needs io.h if PCI is enabled, but PCMCIA is not. sa11xx already has IO_SPACE_LIMIT set to 0xffffffff, so it doesn't need an io.h.
