2008-12-13cpumask: convert struct clock_event_device to cpumask pointers.Rusty Russell
Impact: change calling convention of existing clock_event APIs struct clock_event_timer's cpumask field gets changed to take pointer, as does the ->broadcast function. Another single-patch change. For safety, we BUG_ON() in clockevents_register_device() if it's not set. Signed-off-by: Rusty Russell <rusty@rustcorp.com.au> Cc: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu>
2008-12-01[ARM] omap: fix a pile of issuesRussell King
This patch fixes a number of sillies, from missing 'const' to using 'return' in void functions, to functions with no arguments not even 'void' and a cast which isn't required. Acked-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com> Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>

2008-10-14i2c/isp1301_omap: Convert to a new-style i2c driver, part 2Jean Delvare
Based on David Brownell's patch for tps65010 and previous work by Felipe Balbi, this patch finishes converting isp1301_omap to a new-style i2c driver. There's definitely room for further drivers cleanups, but these are out of the scope of this patch. Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Acked-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>

2008-10-08ARM: OMAP: Allocate McBSP devices dynamicallyChandra Shekhar
Based on Chandra's earlier patches in linux-omap tree. Note that omap1_mcbsp_check and omap2_mcbsp_check are no longer needed as there's now omap_mcbsp_check_valid_id() defined. Also some functions can now be marked __init. Signed-off-by: Chandra Shekhar <x0044955@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>
2008-10-06ARM: OMAP2: Misc updates from linux-omap treeTony Lindgren
Misc updates from linux-omap tree, mostly to update common device initialization and add missing defines from linux-omap tree. Also some changes to make room for adding 34xx in following patches. Note that the I2C resources are now set up in arch/arm/plat-omap/i2c.c helper, and can be removed from devices.c. Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>

2008-09-05[ARM] omap: Fix IO_ADDRESS() macrosRussell King
OMAP1_IO_ADDRESS(), OMAP2_IO_ADDRESS() and IO_ADDRESS() returns cookies for use with __raw_{read|write}* for accessing registers. Therefore, these macros should return (void __iomem *) cookies, not integer values. Doing this improves typechecking, and means we can find those places where, eg, DMA controllers are incorrectly given virtual addresses to DMA to, or physical addresses are thrown through a virtual to physical address translation. 2008-07-03ARM: OMAP: Clean up interrupt lines to fix warnings for multi-omapTony Lindgren
If boards with different NR_IRQS are compiled together, tons of compiler warnings are emitted about redefining NR_IRQS. This patch fixes the problem by adding up NR_IRQS in a common place. Patch also removes quite a bit of now unnecessary code. Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>

2008-05-12[ARM] dyntick: Remove obsolete and unused ARM dyntick supportRussell King
dyntick is superseded by the clocksource/clockevent infrastructure, using the NO_HZ configuration option. No one implements dyntick on ARM anymore, so it's pointless keeping it around. Remove dyntick support. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>

2008-04-29i2c: Convert most new-style drivers to use module aliasingJean Delvare
Based on earlier work by Jon Smirl and Jochen Friedrich. Update most new-style i2c drivers to use standard module aliasing instead of the old driver_name/type driver matching scheme. I've left the video drivers apart (except for SoC camera drivers) as they're a bit more diffcult to deal with, they'll have their own patch later. 2008-04-14ARM: OMAP2: Clean-up mux codeTony Lindgren
Misc clean-up for the mux code and remove some unnecessary ifdefs. Patch changes debug function so it can be used on both 24xx and 34xx. Changes are mostly for omap2, but patch also cleans up some omap1 and common mux code. Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>
2008-04-14ARM: OMAP: TimerMPU: Remove MPU-timer based sched_clock()Kevin Hilman
Remove MPU-timer based sched_clock() in favor of the common one based on 32k sync timer which works across all OMAP1/2/3 platforms. Using 32k based one also gives a valid sched_clock() very early in the boot process. Signed-off-by: Kevin Hilman <khilman@mvista.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>
2008-04-14ARM: OMAP: TimerMPU: Remove unused cycles-to-nsec conversionsKevin Hilman

2008-04-14ARM: OMAP: Use gpiolib with tps65010 for OSK 5912David Brownell
Convert OSK board to use new tps65010 gpiolib support. This includes moving its LED support from leds-osk to gpio-leds, giving more trigger options and a net platform code shrink. Signed-off-by: David Brownell <dbrownell@users.sourceforge.net> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>
2008-04-14ARM: OMAP: 5912 OSK GPIO updatesDavid Brownell
Start cleaning up GPIO handling for OMAP5912 OSK board: - Initialize GPIOs using the cross-platform calls, not the old OMAP-private ones. - Move touchscreen setup out of ads7846 code into board-specfic setup code, where it belongs. This doesn't depend on the patches to update OMAP to use the gpiolib implementation framework. One-shot mode was broken in MPU-timer support for OMAP1 due to a typo. Also, ensure timer is stopped before changing the auto-reload flag. 2008-03-05ARM: OMAP1: omap h2 regression fixDavid Brownell
H2 and H3 were broken on by e27a93a944a5ba6a0112750c8243abba86d56e94, which removed declarations for their tps6501x chips. This resolves that issue for the H2. (Note that this patch *also* broke the isp1301 support on H2; it presumed a not-yet-merged new-style I2c driver.) 2008-03-05ARM: OMAP1: omap h3 regression and build fixDavid Brownell

Also, commit e27a93a944a5ba6a0112750c8243abba86d56e94 introduced a regression related to the tps65013 chip.
