2011-11-21ARM: restart: only perform setup for restart when soft-restartingRussell King
We only need to set the system up for a soft-restart if we're going to be doing a soft-restart. Provide a new function (soft_restart()) which does the setup and final call for this, and make platforms use it. Eliminate the call to setup_restart() from the default handler. This means that platforms arch_reset() function is no longer called with the page tables prepared for a soft-restart, and caches will still be enabled. 2011-10-17ARM: 7024/1: simpad: Cleanup CS3 accessors.Jochen Friedrich
- prepend CS3 accessors by simpad_ to indicate they are specific to simpad devices. - use spinlock to protect shadow register. - implement 8 read-only pins. - use readl/writel macros so barriers are used where necessary. - register CS3 as GPIO controller with 24 pins (16 output only and 8 input only). - fix PCMCIA driver to access the read-only pins rather than the shadow register for status bits. 2011-09-26ARM: add an extra temp register to the low level debugging addruart macroNicolas Pitre
Some platforms (like OMAP not to name it) are doing rather complicated hacks just to determine the base UART address to use. Let's give their addruart macro some slack by providing an extra work register which will allow for much needed cleanups. This is basically a no-op as this commit is only adding the extra argument to the macro but no one is using it yet. 2011-08-12ARM: gpio: make trivial GPIOLIB implementation the defaultRussell King
Rather than marking the mach/gpio.h header files which want to use the trivial GPIOLIB implementation, mark those which do not want to use it instead. This means that by default, you get the trivial implementation and only have to do something extra if you need to. This should encourage the use of the trivial default implementation. As an additional bonus, several gpio.h header files become empty. 2011-05-12ARM: use ARM_DMA_ZONE_SIZE to adjust the zone sizesRussell King
Rather than each platform providing its own function to adjust the zone sizes, use the new ARM_DMA_ZONE_SIZE definition to perform this adjustment. This ensures that the actual DMA zone size and the ISA_DMA_THRESHOLD/MAX_DMA_ADDRESS definitions are consistent with each other, and moves this complexity out of the platform code. The values of ISA_DMA_THRESHOLD and MAX_DMA_ADDRESS are related; one is the physical/bus address, the other is the virtual address.
