2012-10-15ARM: imx: merge plat-mxc into mach-imxShawn Guo
It's really unnecessary to have plat-mxc, and let's merge it into mach-imx. It's pretty much just a bunch of file renaming and Kconfig/Makefile merge. To make the change less invasive, we keep using Kconfig symbol CONFIG_ARCH_MXC for mach-imx sub-architecture. 2012-06-05ARM: imx: Enable imx53 low power idleRobert Lee
Add various functionality needed to enable a imx53 low power idle state. 2012-06-05ARM: imx: clean and consolidate imx5 suspend and idle codeRobert Lee
The imx5 idle code that existed in mm-imx5.c is moved to pm-imx5.c. The imx5_pm_init call is now exported and called during the MACHINE_START late_init in supported imx5 platforms. Remove various enabling/disabling of the gpc_dvfs clock and enable it once during initialization. This is a very low power clock that must be enabled during low power operations. There are only two "suspend_state_t" imx5 low power modes ever used. STOP_POWER_OFF for suspend to mem and WAIT_UNCLOCKED_POWER_OFF for idle and suspend to standby. The latter mode only requires 500 nanoseconds of extra hardware exit time beyond a basic WFI operation (WAIT_CLOCKED mode) so no other idle mode is necessary. Given this information, it is more efficient to keep the registers in the often used WAIT_UNCLOCKED_POWER_OFF state and only to and from the STOP_POWER_OFF register state as needed when suspend to mem is required. 2012-03-02ARM: mx3: Setup AIPS registersFabio Estevam
It was observed on a mx31pdk board that audio playback only worked when the bootloader was Redboot, and did not work when U-boot was used. Comparing the sources of these bootloaders showed that the AIPS registers were not setup in U-boot. Instead of relying on the bootloader to setup the AIPS registers, do it in the kernel so that audio playback can work independantly of the bootloader being used. Copied the AIPS settings from Redboot to the kernel. Signed-off-by: Fabio Estevam <fabio.estevam@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>
2012-03-02ARM: mx3: Let mx31 and mx35 enter in LPM mode in WFIFabio Estevam
The LPM field of register CCMR is used to select the mode that the processor will run when it goes to WFI. When mx31 enters in WFI mode the LPM field is at its reset value of 0, which configures the mx31 to enter in "wait mode". On mx35, the LPM field on mx35 is also at 0 after reset, which corresponds to "run mode" instead of "wait mode". Instead of relying on the reset value of LPM to set the low power mode for WFI, configure mx31 and mx35 to run in "wait mode" Reported-by: Benoit Thebaudeau <benoit.thebaudeau@advansee.com> Signed-off-by: Fabio Estevam <fabio.estevam@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>
