2012-05-11gpio/omap: remove cpu_is_omapxxxx() checks from *_runtime_resume()Tarun Kanti DebBarma
Add register offsets for GPIO_IRQSTATUS_RAW_0, GPIO_IRQSTATUS_RAW_0 which are present on OMAP4+ processors. Now we can distinguish conditions applicable to OMAP4,5 and those specific to OMAP24xx and OMAP3xxx. 2012-05-11gpiolib/arches: Centralise bolierplate asm/gpio.hMark Brown
Rather than requiring architectures that use gpiolib but don't have any need to define anything custom to copy an asm/gpio.h provide a Kconfig symbol which architectures must select in order to include gpio.h and for other architectures just provide the trivial implementation directly. This makes it much easier to do gpiolib updates and is also a step towards making gpiolib APIs available on every architecture. For architectures with existing boilerplate code leave a stub header in place which warns on direct inclusion of asm/gpio.h and includes linux/gpio.h to catch code that's doing this. Direct inclusion of asm/gpio.h has long been deprecated. 2012-05-11arm: omap3: am35x: Don't mark missing features as presentMark A. Greer
The Chip Identification register on the am35x family of SoCs has bits 12, 7:5, and 3:2 marked as reserved and are read as zeroes. Unfortunately, on other omap SoCs, a 0 bit means a feature is "Full Use" so the OMAP3_CHECK_FEATURE() macro called by omap3_check_features() will incorrectly interpret those zeroes to mean that a feature is present even though it isn't. To fix that, the feature bits that are incorrectly set (namely, OMAP3_HAS_IVA and OMAP3_HAS_ISP) need to be cleared after all of the calls to OMAP3_CHECK_FEATURE() in omap3_check_features() are made. 2012-05-11ARM: OMAP3: PM: fix shared PRCM interrupts: leave disabled at bootKevin Hilman
By default, request_irq() will auto-enable the requested IRQ. For PRCM interrupts, we may want to avoid that until the PM core code is fully ready to handle the interrupts. This is particularily true for IO pad interrupts on OMAP3, which are shared between the hwmod core and the PRM core. In order to avoid PRCM IO-chain interrupts until the PM core is ready to handle them, ready, set the IRQ_NOAUTOEN flag for the PRCM IO-chain interrupt, which means it will remain disabled after request_irq(). Then, explicitly enable the PRCM interrupts after the request_irq() in the PM core (but not in the hwmod core.) Special thanks to Tero Kristo for suggesting to isolate the fix to only the IO-chain interrupt on OMAP3 instead of all PRCM interrupts. 2012-05-11ARM: OMAP2+: INTC: fix suspend abort, set IRQCHIP_SKIP_SET_WAKENeilBrown
Without an ->irq_set_wake() method in an irq_chip, calls to enable_irq_wake() will fail. This also causes these interrupts to not be able to abort suspend (via check_wakeup_irqs() in late suspend.) Currently, we don't implement ->irq_set_wake() for INTC interrupts because they default to be wakeup enabled by setting the GRPSEL bits in PM init. Even though there is no ->irq_set_wake(), we want enable_irq_wake() to succeed so these interrupts can abort suspend when necessary. To fix, set IRQCHIP_SKIP_SET_WAKE flag for all the INTC interrupts which avoids trying to check irq_chip->irq_set_wake() and failing when it doesn't exist. Longer term, we need to implement ->irq_set_wake() for the INTC which can manage the appropriate GRPSEL bits. 2012-05-11ARM: msm: Drop useless teq from DEBUG_LL supportStephen Boyd
This teq was first introduced in bcc0f6a ([ARM] msm: clean up iomap and devices, 2008-09-10). It seems that DEBUG_LL support on MSM at the time had to remove the virtual mapping for the uart base. Thus when the MMU was enabled the addruart macro returned 0 and the senduart macro would test for 0 and do nothing. It was a simple way to turn off DEBUG_LL when the MMU was enabled. The virtual mapping was added back in 6339f66 (msm: make debugging UART (for DEBUG_LL) configurable, 2009-11-02) but the patch forgot to remove the teq here. So as it stands the teq has been useless for two years and DEBUG_LL works fine without it. 2012-05-11OMAPDSS: interface drivers register their panel devicesTomi Valkeinen
Currently the higher level omapdss platform driver gets the list of displays in its platform data, and uses that list to create the omap_dss_device for each display. With DT, the logical way to do the above is to list the displays under each individual output, i.e. we'd have "dpi" node, under which we would have the display that uses DPI. In other words, each output driver handles the displays that use that particular output. To make the current code ready for DT, this patch modifies the output drivers so that each of them creates the display devices which use that output. However, instead of changing the platform data to suit this method, each output driver is passed the full list of displays, and the drivers pick the displays that are meant for them. This allows us to keep the old platform data, and thus we avoid the need to change the board files. Signed-off-by: Tomi Valkeinen <tomi.valkeinen@ti.com>
2012-05-11OMAPDSS: create DPI & SDI devicesTomi Valkeinen
We currently have separate device/driver for each DSS HW module. The DPI and SDI outputs are more or less parts of the DSS or DISPC hardware modules, but in SW it makes sense to represent them as device/driver pairs similarly to all the other outputs. This also makes sense for device tree, as each node under dss will be a platform device, and handling DPI & SDI somehow differently than the rest would just make the code more complex. This patch modifies arch/arm/mach-omap2/display.c to create platform devices for DPI and SDI, and later patches will implement driver for them. Signed-off-by: Tomi Valkeinen <tomi.valkeinen@ti.com>
2012-05-11OMAPDSS: create custom pdevs for DSS omap_devicesTomi Valkeinen
Instead of using omap_device_build() to create the omap_devices for DSS hwmods, create them with a custom function. This will allow us to create a parent-child hierarchy for the devices so that the omapdss_core device is parent for the rest of the dss hwmod devices. 2012-05-11OMAPDSS: clean up the omapdss platform data messTomi Valkeinen
The omapdss pdata handling is a mess. This is more evident when trying to use device tree for DSS, as we don't have platform data anymore in that case. This patch cleans the pdata handling by: - Remove struct omap_display_platform_data. It was used just as a wrapper for struct omap_dss_board_info. - Pass the platform data only to omapdss device. The drivers for omap dss hwmods do not need the platform data. This should also work better for DT, as we can create omapdss device programmatically in generic omap boot code, and thus we can pass the pdata to it. - Create dss functions for get_ctx_loss_count and dsi_enable/disable_pads that the dss hwmod drivers can call. 2012-05-11pinctrl/nomadik: implement pin configurationLinus Walleij
This implements the pin configuration interface for the Nomadik pin controller. As part of the exercise we add a bit in the pin_cfg_t for the Nomadik pinctrl driver that indicates if the pin should be forced into GPIO mode. This is not done to go behind the back of the GPIO subsystem, but to ensure that default modes can be set by hogs on boot and system suspend/resume states. It was used implicitly by the old code defining all config settings and modes in a single config word but we now have a split between pinmux and pinconf leading to the need to have this. We also add a bit for explicitly setting sleepmode of the pin. This was previously handled by custom calls with the _sleep() suffix, but we now have one single interface into the configuration so we replace this with a bit indicating that the pin shall be configured into sleep mode. Some of the configuration can be refactored later to use less custom fields on the pin_cfg_t but we are currently leaving the old function calls in place so we stay compatible. ChangeLog v1->v2: - Drop a hunk changing pinmuxing for GPIO and move it over to the preceding pinmux patch. The DB8500 has more pins than this but we restrict the driver to the pins that can be controlled from the combined GPIO and pin control hardware to begin with. ChangeLog v1->v2: - Base on the latest pinctrl development from pinctrl-mergebase-20120418 so we can get rid of legacy group count mechanism. Also drop the range checks for group index, this is handled by the core now. Acked-by: Stephen Warren <swarren@wwwdotorg.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
