2012-05-24Merge branch 'timers-core-for-linus' of ↵Linus Torvalds
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tip/tip Pull timer updates from Thomas Gleixner. Various trivial conflict fixups in arch Kconfig due to addition of unrelated entries nearby. And one slightly more subtle one for sparc32 (new user of GENERIC_CLOCKEVENTS), fixed up as per Thomas. * 'timers-core-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tip/tip: (31 commits) timekeeping: Fix a few minor newline issues. time: remove obsolete declaration ntp: Fix a stale comment and a few stray newlines. ntp: Correct TAI offset during leap second timers: Fixup the Kconfig consolidation fallout x86: Use generic time config unicore32: Use generic time config um: Use generic time config tile: Use generic time config sparc: Use: generic time config sh: Use generic time config score: Use generic time config s390: Use generic time config openrisc: Use generic time config powerpc: Use generic time config mn10300: Use generic time config mips: Use generic time config microblaze: Use generic time config m68k: Use generic time config m32r: Use generic time config ...
2012-05-21timers: Fixup the Kconfig consolidation falloutThomas Gleixner
Sigh, I missed to check which architecture Kconfig files actually include the core Kconfig file. There are a few which did not. So we broke them. Instead of adding the includes to those, we are better off to move the include to init/Kconfig like we did already with irqs and others. This does not change anything for the architectures using the old style periodic timer mode. It just solves the build wreckage there. For those architectures which use the clock events infrastructure it moves the include of the core Kconfig file to "General setup" which is a way more logical place than having it at random locations specified by the architecture specific Kconfigs. 2012-05-02C6X: change main arch kbuild symbolMark Salter
Currently the c6x architecture uses CONFIG_TMS320C6X as the main architecture symbol. Most architectures use a more intuitive name based on the architecture directory name. There are no current users of TMS320C6X so this patch simply changes CONFIG_TMS320C6X to the more intuitive CONFIG_C6X. 2012-03-29Merge branch 'for-linus' of git://git.linaro.org/people/rmk/linux-armLinus Torvalds
Pull more ARM updates from Russell King. This got a fair number of conflicts with the <asm/system.h> split, but also with some other sparse-irq and header file include cleanups. They all looked pretty trivial, though. * 'for-linus' of git://git.linaro.org/people/rmk/linux-arm: (59 commits) ARM: fix Kconfig warning for HAVE_BPF_JIT ARM: 7361/1: provide XIP_VIRT_ADDR for no-MMU builds ARM: 7349/1: integrator: convert to sparse irqs ARM: 7259/3: net: JIT compiler for packet filters ARM: 7334/1: add jump label support ARM: 7333/2: jump label: detect %c support for ARM ARM: 7338/1: add support for early console output via semihosting ARM: use set_current_blocked() and block_sigmask() ARM: exec: remove redundant set_fs(USER_DS) ARM: 7332/1: extract out code patch function from kprobes ARM: 7331/1: extract out insn generation code from ftrace ARM: 7330/1: ftrace: use canonical Thumb-2 wide instruction format ARM: 7351/1: ftrace: remove useless memory checks ARM: 7316/1: kexec: EOI active and mask all interrupts in kexec crash path ARM: Versatile Express: add NO_IOPORT ARM: get rid of asm/irq.h in asm/prom.h ARM: 7319/1: Print debug info for SIGBUS in user faults ARM: 7318/1: gic: refactor irq_start assignment ARM: 7317/1: irq: avoid NULL check in for_each_irq_desc loop ARM: 7315/1: perf: add support for the Cortex-A7 PMU ...
2012-02-16irq_domain/c6x: Convert c6x to use generic irq_domain support.Mark Salter
The C6X IRQ support was copied almost verbatim from the PowerPC virtual IRQ code. The PowerPC code was used as the basis for generic irq_domain support, so this patch mostly copies what what done to arch/powerpc by Grant Likely in his irq_domain patch series. 2012-01-25irq: make SPARSE_IRQ an optionally hidden optionRob Herring
On ARM, we don't want SPARSE_IRQ to be a user visible option. Make SPARSE_IRQ visible based on MAY_HAVE_SPARSE_IRQ instead of depending on HAVE_SPARSE_IRQ. With this, SPARSE_IRQ is not visible on C6X and ARM.
