2013-07-30MIPS: Set default CPU type for BCM47XX platformsMarkos Chandras
If neither BCM47XX_SSD nor BCM47XX_BCMA is selected, then no CPU type is available leading to build problems. We fix this problem by using MIPS32r1 as the default CPU type for the BCM47XX platform. 2013-02-15MIPS: BCM47XX: use fallback sprom var for board_{rev,type}Hauke Mehrtens
An SoC normally do not define path variables for board_rev and board_type and the Broadcom SDK also uses the nvram values without a prefix in such cases. Do the same to fill these sprom attributes from nvram and do not leave them empty, because brcmsmac do not like this. 2013-02-15MIPS: BCM47XX: trim the nvram values for parsingHauke Mehrtens

2013-02-15MIPS: BCM47XX: handle different nvram sizesHauke Mehrtens
The old code just worked for nvram with a size of 0x8000 bytes. This patch adds support for reading nvram from partitions of 0xF000 and 0x10000 bytes. There is just 32KB space for the nvram, but most devices do not use the full size and this code reads the first 32KB in that case and prints a warning. 2012-11-09MIPS: BCM47xx: sprom: read values without prefix as fallbackHauke Mehrtens
There are bcma based devices like the Linksys E2000 out there, which do have one ieee80211 core, but no PCIe core and they are using no prefixes for the sprom. In addition some values like boardtype are stored without a prefix for the main SoC chip also when they have an additional PCIe wifi chip with an own boardtype var on some devices. The Ethernet addresses are now also read out correctly without a prefix so calling bcm47xx_fill_sprom_ethernet is not needed any more. Read out the full board data independently of the sprom version. Now we also get the full boardflags and so on if sromrev is not set and our code would assume a rev 1 device. 2012-11-09MIPS: BCM47XX: improve memory size detectionHauke Mehrtens
The memory size is detected by finding a place where it repeats in memory. Currently we are just checking when the function prom_init is seen again, but it is better to check for a bigger part of the memory to decrease the chance of wrong results. This should fix a problem we saw in OpenWrt, where the detected available memory decreed on some devices when doing a soft reboot. 2012-05-16bcma: Move initialization of SPROM to prevent overwriteNathan Hintz
The first thing bcm47xx_fill_sprom does is initialize (zero fill) the SPROM. For BCMA SOC, this wipes out any values previously read by bcm47xx_fill_sprom_ethernet (see arch/mips/bcm47xx/setup.c - bcm47xx_get_sprom_bcma). 2012-05-16ssb: remove rev from boardinfoHauke Mehrtens
Previously the rev contained the revision read from the pci config space and was used as board_rev in the wireless drivers. This is wrong the board_rev is only fetched from the sprom accordingly to the open source part of the Broadcom SDK and brcmsmac. This patch removes the rev from the boardinfo structure and uses the board_rev attribute from sprom instead. This attribute is filled by PCI, PCMCIA, SDIO and SoC code. 2011-05-19MIPS: BCM47xx: Register SSB fallback sprom callbackHauke Mehrtens
We are generating the prefix based on the PCI bus address the device is on. This is done like Broadcom does it in their code expect that the the bus number is increased by one. In the SB bus implementation used by Broadcom the SB bus emulates a PCI bus so the kernel sees one PCI bus more then in our implementation. We do not handle prefixes like sb/1/ yet as they are only used on the new bus which is not implemented yet. 2011-05-19MIPS: BCM47xx: Extend bcm47xx_fill_sprom with prefix.Hauke Mehrtens
When an other SSB based device without an own SPROM is attached, using the PCI bus to the main SSB based device, the data normally found in the SPROM will be stored in the NVRAM on modern devices. The keys, to load the data from the NVRAM, are all using some sort of prefix like pci/1/1/, pci/1/3/ or sb/1/ before the actual key. This patch extends bcm47xx_fill_sprom() to make it possible to read out these values when some prefix was used. The keys for the SPROM data used on the main chip does not have a prefix.
