2013-09-25sched, arch: Create asm/preempt.hPeter Zijlstra
In order to prepare to per-arch implementations of preempt_count move the required bits into an asm-generic header and use this for all archs. 2012-11-13tracing,x86: Add a TSC trace_clockDavid Sharp
In order to promote interoperability between userspace tracers and ftrace, add a trace_clock that reports raw TSC values which will then be recorded in the ring buffer. Userspace tracers that also record TSCs are then on exactly the same time base as the kernel and events can be unambiguously interlaced. Tested: Enabled a tracepoint and the "tsc" trace_clock and saw very large timestamp values. v2: Move arch-specific bits out of generic code. v3: Rename "x86-tsc", cleanups v7: Generic arch bits in Kbuild. 2012-06-13sh: Kill off additional asm-generic wrappers.Paul Mundt
A few wrappers were overlooked in the initial conversion, take care of them now. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>

2010-08-14archs: replace unifdef-y with header-ySam Ravnborg
unifdef-y and header-y have same semantic, so drop unifdef-y Signed-off-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org>
2010-06-14sh: split out ptrace header for _32/_64 variants.Paul Mundt
asm/ptrace.h is getting a bit messy, with the _32/_64-specific changes being fairly insular. This splits out the header accordingly. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
2009-12-08sh: hw-breakpoints: Add preliminary support for SH-4A UBC.Paul Mundt
This adds preliminary support for the SH-4A UBC to the hw-breakpoints API. Presently only a single channel is implemented, and the ptrace interface still needs to be converted. This is the first step to cleaning up the long-standing UBC mess, making the UBC more generally accessible, and finally making it SMP safe. An additional abstraction will be layered on top of this as with the perf events code to permit the various CPU families to wire up support for their own specific UBCs, as many variations exist. 2009-08-24sh: Add sys_cacheflush() call for SH CPUs.Stuart Menefy
Adds a system call to allow user code to flush code from the cache. You can use instructions for the data side, but the iside can only be done by a flush ROM which really only works with a direct mapped cache. The later SH4's have 2 way Iside, so this call allows a portable way to flush the cache. Signed-off-by: Stuart Menefy <stuart.menefy@st.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
2009-01-14byteorder: make swab.h include asm/swab.h like a regular headerHarvey Harrison
Add swab.h to kbuild.asm and remove the individual entries from each arch, mark as unifdef as some arches have some kernel-only bits inside. Signed-off-by: Harvey Harrison <harvey.harrison@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>

This follows the sparc changes a439fe51a1f8eb087c22dd24d69cebae4a3addac. Most of the moving about was done with Sam's directions at: http://marc.info/?l=linux-sh&m=121724823706062&w=2 with subsequent hacking and fixups entirely my fault.
