2009-05-28x86: enable_update_mptable should be a macroYinghai Lu
instead of declaring one variant as an inline function... because other case is a variable Signed-off-by: Yinghai Lu <yinghai@kernel.org> LKML-Reference: <4A13B344.7030307@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu>
2009-05-18x86, irq: don't call mp_config_acpi_gsi() if update_mptable is not enabledYinghai Lu
Len expressed concern that the update_mptable feature has side-effects on the ACPI code. Make it sure explicitly that the code only ever gets called if the (default disabled) update_mptable boot quirk option is disabled. [ Impact: isolate the update_mptable feature from ACPI code more ] Signed-off-by: Yinghai Lu <yinghai@kernel.org> Cc: Len Brown <lenb@kernel.org> LKML-Reference: <4A0DC832.5090200@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu>
2009-05-11x86/acpi: call mp_config_acpi_gsi() in mp_register_gsi()Yinghai Lu
The patch to call mp_config_acpi_gsi() from the ACPI IRQ registration code never got mainline because there were open discussions about it. This call is needed to properly update the kernel's copy of the mptable, when the update_mptable boot parameter is needed. Now that the dust has settled with the APIC unification, and since there were no objections when the patch was re-submitted, try this again. 2009-04-28irq: change ACPI GSI APIs to also take a device argumentYinghai Lu
We want to use dev_to_node() later on, to be aware of the 'home node' of the GSI in question. [ Impact: cleanup, prepare the IRQ code to be more NUMA aware ] Signed-off-by: Yinghai Lu <yinghai@kernel.org> Acked-by: Len Brown <lenb@kernel.org> Cc: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Cc: Suresh Siddha <suresh.b.siddha@intel.com> Cc: "Eric W. 2009-02-17x86, numaq_32: clean up, miscIngo Molnar
Impact: cleanup - misc other cleanups that change the md5 signature - consolidate global variables - remove unnecessary __numaq_mps_oem_check() wrapper - make numaq_mps_oem_check static - update copyrights - misc other cleanups pointed out by checkpatch Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu>
2009-02-09x86: add mp_find_ioapic_pinJeremy Fitzhardinge
Add mp_find_ioapic_pin() to find an IO APIC's specific pin from a GSI, and use this function within acpi/boot. Make it non-static so other code can use it too. Signed-off-by: Jeremy Fitzhardinge <jeremy.fitzhardinge@citrix.com>
2009-02-09x86: unstatic mp_find_ioapic so it can be used elsewhereJeremy Fitzhardinge

2009-02-09x86: find nr_irqs_gsi with mp_ioapic_routingYinghai Lu
Impact: find right nr_irqs_gsi on some systems. One test-system has gap between gsi's: [ 0.000000] ACPI: IOAPIC (id[0x04] address[0xfec00000] gsi_base[0]) [ 0.000000] IOAPIC[0]: apic_id 4, version 0, address 0xfec00000, GSI 0-23 [ 0.000000] ACPI: IOAPIC (id[0x05] address[0xfeafd000] gsi_base[48]) [ 0.000000] IOAPIC[1]: apic_id 5, version 0, address 0xfeafd000, GSI 48-54 [ 0.000000] ACPI: IOAPIC (id[0x06] address[0xfeafc000] gsi_base[56]) [ 0.000000] IOAPIC[2]: apic_id 6, version 0, address 0xfeafc000, GSI 56-62 ... [ 0.000000] nr_irqs_gsi: 38 So nr_irqs_gsi is not right. some irq for MSI will overwrite with io_apic. need to get that with acpi_probe_gsi when acpi io_apic is used Signed-off-by: Yinghai Lu <yinghai@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu>
2009-01-29x86/Voyager: remove X86_FIND_SMP_CONFIG Kconfig quirkIngo Molnar
x86/Voyager had this Kconfig quirk: config X86_FIND_SMP_CONFIG def_bool y depends on X86_MPPARSE || X86_VOYAGER Which splits off the find_smp_config() callback into a build-time quirk. Voyager should use the existing x86_quirks.mach_find_smp_config() callback to introduce SMP-config quirks. NUMAQ-32 and VISWS already use this. Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu>

2008-12-29x86: apic.c declare pic_mode before they get usedJaswinder Singh Rajput
Impact: cleanup, avoid sparse warning In asm/mpspec.h moved out pic_mode from CONFIG_X86_32 as it is common for both 32 and 64 bit. Fixes this sparse warning for x86_64: arch/x86/kernel/apic.c:128:5: warning: symbol 'pic_mode' was not declared. Should it be static? 2008-10-22x86: Fix ASM_X86__ header guardsH. Peter Anvin
Change header guards named "ASM_X86__*" to "_ASM_X86_*" since: a. the double underscore is ugly and pointless. b. no leading underscore violates namespace constraints. Signed-off-by: H. Peter Anvin <hpa@zytor.com>
