2014-03-18ARM: ixp4xx: Make dma_set_coherent_mask common, correct implementationSimon Kågström
Non-PCI devices can use the entire 32-bit range, PCI dittos are limited to the first 64MiB. Also actually setup coherent_dma_mask. The patch has been verified on a board with 128MiB memory, one ipx4xx_eth device and a e100 PCI device. 2014-03-18xen/grant-table: Refactor gnttab_[un]map_refs to avoid m2p_overrideZoltan Kiss
The grant mapping API does m2p_override unnecessarily: only gntdev needs it, for blkback and future netback patches it just cause a lock contention, as those pages never go to userspace. Therefore this series does the following: - the bulk of the original function (everything after the mapping hypercall) is moved to arch-dependent set/clear_foreign_p2m_mapping - the "if (xen_feature(XENFEAT_auto_translated_physmap))" branch goes to ARM - therefore the ARM function could be much smaller, the m2p_override stubs could be also removed - on x86 the set_phys_to_machine calls were moved up to this new funcion from m2p_override functions - and m2p_override functions are only called when there is a kmap_ops param It also removes a stray space from arch/x86/include/asm/xen/page.h. 2014-03-18xen: remove XEN_PRIVILEGED_GUESTMichael Opdenacker
This patch removes the Kconfig symbol XEN_PRIVILEGED_GUEST which is used nowhere in the tree. We do know grub2 has a script that greps kernel configuration files for its macro. It shouldn't do that. As Linus summarized: This is a grub bug. It really is that simple. Treat it as one. Besides, grub2's grepping for that macro is actually superfluous. See, that script currently contains this test (simplified): grep -x CONFIG_XEN_DOM0=y $config || grep -x CONFIG_XEN_PRIVILEGED_GUEST=y $config But since XEN_DOM0 and XEN_PRIVILEGED_GUEST are by definition equal, removing XEN_PRIVILEGED_GUEST cannot influence this test. So there's no reason to not remove this symbol, like we do with all unused Kconfig symbols. 2014-03-18xen: add support for MSI message groupsRoger Pau Monne
Add support for MSI message groups for Xen Dom0 using the MAP_PIRQ_TYPE_MULTI_MSI pirq map type. In order to keep track of which pirq is the first one in the group all pirqs in the MSI group except for the first one have the newly introduced PIRQ_MSI_GROUP flag set. This prevents calling PHYSDEVOP_unmap_pirq on them, since the unmap must be done with the first pirq in the group. 2014-03-17MIPS: mark O32+FP64 experimental for nowPaul Burton
Commit 597ce1723e0f "MIPS: Support for 64-bit FP with O32 binaries" introduced support for setting Status.FR=1 for O32 binaries with the EF_MIPS_FP64 ELF header flag set. Whilst this flag is currently supported by binutils it does introduce an ABI break within userland. Objects built with EF_MIPS_FP64 cannot be safely linked with those built without it since code in either object may assume behaviour specific to a value of FR. More recently there has been discussion around avoiding further fragmentation of the O32 ABI whilst still allowing the use of FR=1 and features such as MSA which depend upon it. Details of the plan to allow this are still being worked on, and whilst the kernel will need the ability to handle FR=1 with O32 tasks it is unclear what else it may need to provide to a userland which seeks to avoid another ABI break. In order to prevent the proliferation of userland which may rely upon the current EF_MIPS_FP64 behaviour this patch marks the kernel support for it experimental & disables it by default. Under current proposals it is likely that this support can simply be enabled again later, but possibly after the introduction of further interfaces with userland and support for the MIPS R5 UFR feature. 2014-03-17CNS3xxx: Fix PCIe early iotable_init().Krzysztof Hałasa
This patch fixes the following BUG: > kernel BUG at mm/vmalloc.c:1132! > PC is at vm_area_add_early+0x20/0x84 > LR is at add_static_vm_early+0xc/0x60 > > The problem is cns3xxx_pcie_init() (device_initcall) calls the "early" > iotable_init(). Instead of merely calling the PCIe iotable_init() from machine_desc->map_io(), this patch adds the required mappings to the main CNS3xxx mapping table. This means we don't convert .pfn back to virtual addresses in pcie.c. The size of the address space consumed for PCIe control is reduced from 96 MiB (6 * 16 MiB) to about 32 MiB (this doesn't include MMIO address space required by PCI devices): - Size of the PCIe "host" mapping is reduced from 16 MiB to 4 KiB. It's a PCI configuration address space for the local (on-chip) PCIe bridge. - Size of the "CFG0" mapping is reduced from 16 MiB to 64 KiB. It's for Type 0 Configuration accesses, i.e., accesses to the single device (with possible "functions") on the other end of the PCIe link. We really only need a 4 KiB page at 0x8000 (see the offset calculation in cns3xxx_pci_cfg_base()). There is still a potential problem with PCI bus numbers > 0xF, are they supported? - The code in cns3xxx_pci_cfg_base() and cns3xxx_pcie_hw_init() should be clearer now. - The maximum address space allocated for PCI MMIO is now correctly shown in /proc/iomem as 176 MiB (per each of the two PCI "domains" - previously only 16 MiB were reserved). 2014-03-17ARM: davinci: remove tnetv107x supportArnd Bergmann
The tnetv107x support does not compile, and seems to have been broken for a while with nobody caring to fix it. So far everyone I asked said it's probably dead and completely unused and will never again be needed in a future kernel release, so let's delete it. If someone finds a use for this code later and is able to get it to work again, we can always revert the removal.
