2012-01-13module_param: make bool parameters really bool (drivers & misc)Rusty Russell
module_param(bool) used to counter-intuitively take an int. In fddd5201 (mid-2009) we allowed bool or int/unsigned int using a messy trick. It's time to remove the int/unsigned int option. 2011-11-06ACPI: Fix possible recursive locking in hwregs.cRakib Mullick
Calling pm-suspend might trigger a recursive lock in it's code path. In function acpi_hw_clear_acpi_status, acpi_os_acquire_lock holds the lock acpi_gbl_hardware_lock before calling acpi_hw_register_write(), then without releasing acpi_gbl_hardware_lock, this function calls acpi_ev_walk_gpe_list, which tries to hold acpi_gbl_gpe_lock. Both acpi_gbl_hardware_lock and acpi_gbl_gpe_lock are at same lock-class and which might cause lock recursion deadlock. Following patch fixes this scenario by just releasing acpi_gbl_hardware_lock before calling acpi_ev_walk_gpe_list. 2011-07-13ACPICA: Do not repair _TSS return package if _PSS is presentFenghua Yu
We can only sort the _TSS return package if there is no _PSS in the same scope. This is because if _PSS is present, the ACPI specification dictates that the _TSS Power Dissipation field is to be ignored, and therefore some BIOSs leave garbage values in the _TSS Power field(s). In this case, it is best to just return the _TSS package as-is. Section 4.7.3.6 of the ACPI specification requires that the register width of the reset vector be 8 bits. Windows simply hardcodes the access to be a byte and ignores the width provided in the FADT, so make sure that we do the same.
