2007-06-03[WATCHDOG] Mixcom Watchdog - checkcard part 2Wim Van Sebroeck
Convert the mixcom and flashcom card checks to a single checkcard call by creating a new structure that contains all io-ports and their id's. This is part of the port to the isa watchdog device driver. Signed-off-by: Wim Van Sebroeck <wim@iguana.be>
2007-06-03[WATCHDOG] Mixcom Watchdog - checkcardWim Van Sebroeck
Simplify the mixcomwd_checkcard and flashcom_checkcard functions to one checkcard function as part of the port to an isa watchdog device driver. Signed-off-by: Wim Van Sebroeck <wim@iguana.be>

Robert Radez started cleaning up the mixcomwd driver in 2002. All his changes have been incorporated. Since he owns that credit -> document it correctly. Signed-off-by: Wim Van Sebroeck <wim@iguana.be>
2007-02-12[WATCHDOG] timers cleanupJiri Slaby
- Use timer macros to set function and data members and to modify expiration time. - Use DEFINE_TIMER for single (platform dependent) watchdog timers and do not init them at run-time in these cases. - del_timer_sync is common in most cases -- we want to wait for timer function if it's still running. 2007-01-27[WATCHDOG] show default value for nowayout in module parameterWim Van Sebroeck
change default=CONFIG_WATCHDOG_NOWAYOUT in the module parameter for nowayout by it's real value (0 or 1) by using: __MODULE_STRING(WATCHDOG_NOWAYOUT) Signed-off-by: Wim Van Sebroeck <wim@iguana.be>
2006-10-02[WATCHDOG] use ENOTTY instead of ENOIOCTLCMD in ioctl()Samuel Tardieu
Return ENOTTY instead of ENOIOCTLCMD in user-visible ioctl() results The watchdog drivers used to return ENOIOCTLCMD for bad ioctl() commands. ENOIOCTLCMD should not be visible by the user, so use ENOTTY instead. 2006-07-03[PATCH] make more file_operation structs staticArjan van de Ven
Mark the static struct file_operations in drivers/char as const. Making them const prevents accidental bugs, and moves them to the .rodata section so that they no longer do any false sharing; in addition with the proper debug option they are then protected against corruption.. 2005-10-30[PATCH] fix missing includesTim Schmielau
I recently picked up my older work to remove unnecessary #includes of sched.h, starting from a patch by Dave Jones to not include sched.h from module.h. This reduces the number of indirect includes of sched.h by ~300. Another ~400 pointless direct includes can be removed after this disentangling (patch to follow later). However, quite a few indirect includes need to be fixed up for this. In order to feed the patches through -mm with as little disturbance as possible, I've split out the fixes I accumulated up to now (complete for i386 and x86_64, more archs to follow later) and post them before the real patch. This way this large part of the patch is kept simple with only adding #includes, and all hunks are independent of each other. So if any hunk rejects or gets in the way of other patches, just drop it. My scripts will pick it up again in the next round. 2005-04-16Linux-2.6.12-rc2v2.6.12-rc2Linus Torvalds
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
