2013-08-28i2c: sirf: retry 3 times as sometimes we get random noack and timeoutZhiwu Song
let i2c core retry 3 times as sometimes we get random noack and timeout even when we access an existing i2c client. Signed-off-by: Zhiwu Song <Zhiwu.Song@csr.com> Signed-off-by: Barry Song <Baohua.Song@csr.com> Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de>
2013-08-28i2c: sirf: support reverse direction of addressZhiwu Song
if users set I2C_M_REV_DIR_ADDR, revert the direction of address. Signed-off-by: Zhiwu Song <Zhiwu.Song@csr.com> Signed-off-by: Rongjun Ying <rongjun.ying@csr.com> Signed-off-by: Barry Song <Baohua.Song@csr.com> Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de>
2013-08-28i2c: sirf: fix the typo for setting bitrate to less than 100kZhiwu Song
there is a typo before, it makes the final bitrate wrong, this patch fixes it. Signed-off-by: Zhiwu Song <Zhiwu.Song@csr.com> Signed-off-by: Barry Song <Baohua.Song@csr.com> Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de>
2013-08-28i2c: sirf: we need to wait I2C_RESET status in resumeZhiwu Song
this fixes the issue that we lost to wait the i2c reset finished. Signed-off-by: Zhiwu Song <Zhiwu.Song@csr.com> Signed-off-by: Barry Song <Baohua.Song@csr.com> Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de>
2013-08-28i2c: sirf: reset i2c controller early after we get a noackZhiwu Song
Due to hardware ANOMALY, we need to reset I2C earlier after we get NOACK while accessing non-existing clients, otherwise we will get errors even we access existing clients later Signed-off-by: Zhiwu Song <Zhiwu.Song@csr.com> Signed-off-by: Barry Song <Baohua.Song@csr.com> Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de>
2013-08-23i2c: move OF helpers into the coreWolfram Sang
I2C of helpers used to live in of_i2c.c but experience (from SPI) shows that it is much cleaner to have this in the core. This also removes a circular dependency between the helpers and the core, and so we can finally register child nodes in the core instead of doing this manually in each driver. So, fix the drivers and documentation, too. Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de>
2013-05-18drivers/i2c/busses: don't check resource with devm_ioremap_resourceWolfram Sang
devm_ioremap_resource does sanity checks on the given resource. No need to duplicate this in the driver. Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de> Acked-by: Stephen Warren <swarren@nvidia.com> Acked-by: Barry Song <Baohua.Song@csr.com>
2013-01-25Merge 3.8-rc5 into driver-core-nextGreg Kroah-Hartman
This resolves a gpio driver merge issue pointed out in linux-next. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2013-01-24i2c: Convert to devm_ioremap_resource()Thierry Reding
Convert all uses of devm_request_and_ioremap() to the newly introduced devm_ioremap_resource() which provides more consistent error handling. devm_ioremap_resource() provides its own error messages so all explicit error messages can be removed from the failure code paths. 2012-03-07i2c: add CSR SiRFprimaII on-chip I2C controllers driverZhiwu Song
SiRFprimaII is the latest generation application processor from CSR’s multi-function SoC product family. The SoC support codes are in arch/arm/mach-prima2 from Linux mainline 3.0. There are two I2C controllers on primaII, features include: * Two I2C controller modules are on chip * RISC I/O bus read write register * Up to 16 bytes data buffer for issuing commands and writing data at the same time * Up to 16 commands, and receiving read data 16 bytes at a time * Error INT report (ACK check) * No-ACK bus protocols (SCCB bus protocols) Signed-off-by: Zhiwu Song <Zhiwu.Song@csr.com> Signed-off-by: Xiangzhen Ye <Xiangzhen.Ye@csr.com> Signed-off-by: Yuping Luo <Yuping.Luo@csr.com> Signed-off-by: Barry Song <Baohua.Song@csr.com> Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <w.sang@pengutronix.de>
