2010-07-09powerpc: Add i8042 keyboard and mouse irq parsingMartyn Welch
Currently the irqs for the i8042, which historically provides keyboard and mouse (aux) support, is hardwired in the driver rather than parsing the dts. This patch modifies the powerpc legacy IO code to attempt to parse the device tree for this information, failing back to the hardcoded values if it fails. 2008-09-23powerpc: convert CONFIG_PPC_MERGE to CONFIG_PPC for legacy io checksKumar Gala
Now that arch/ppc is dead CONFIG_PPC_MERGE is always defined for all powerpc platforms and we want to get rid of CONFIG_PPC_MERGE use CONFIG_PPC instead. 2006-10-01[PATCH] update legacy io handling for pmacOlaf Hering
ppc can boot one single binary on prep, chrp and pmac boards. ppc64 can boot one single binary on pseries and G5 boards. pmac has no legacy io, probing for PC style legacy hardware (or accessing the legacy io area regulary) may lead to a hard crash: * add check for parport_pc, exit on pmac. 32bit chrp has no ->check_legacy_ioport, the probe is always called. 64bit chrp has check_legacy_ioport, check for a "parallel" node * add check for isapnp, only PReP boards may have real ISA slots. 32bit PReP will have no ->check_legacy_ioport, the probe is always called. * update code in i8042_platform_init. Run ->check_legacy_ioport first, always call request_region. No functional change. Remove whitespace before i8042_reset init. 2006-04-28[PATCH] powerpc: Use check_legacy_ioport() on ppc32 too.David Woodhouse
Some people report that we die on some Macs when we are expecting to catch machine checks after poking at some random I/O address. I'd seen it happen on my dual G4 with serial ports until we fixed those to use OF, but now other users are reporting it with i8042. This expands the use of check_legacy_ioport() to avoid that situation even on 32-bit kernels. Signed-off-by: David Woodhouse <dwmw2@infradead.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
