2011-02-22be2net: fix to ignore transparent vlan ids wrongly indicated by NICAjit Khaparde
With transparent VLAN tagging, the ASIC wrongly indicates packets with VLAN ID. Strip them off in the driver. The VLAN Tag to be stripped will be given to the host as an async message. Signed-off-by: Ajit Khaparde <ajit.khaparde@emulex.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2011-02-11be2net: For the VF MAC, use the OUI from current MAC addressAjit Khaparde
Currently we are always using the Emulex OUI for a VF MAC address while generating MAC for a VF. Use OUI from current MAC instead. Signed-off-by: Ajit Khaparde <ajit.khaparde@emulex.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2010-12-16be2net: use mutex instead of spin lock for mbox_lockIvan Vecera
Since the mbox polling uses the schedule_timeout, the mbox_lock should be a mutex and not a spin lock. The commit f25b03a replaced udelay() with schedule_timeout() but didn't change mbox_lock to semaphore or mutex. Signed-off-by: Ivan Vecera <ivecera@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2010-12-06be2net: Handle out of buffer completions for lancerSathya Perla
If Lancer chip does not have posted RX buffers, it posts an RX completion entry with the same frag_index as the last valid completion. The Error bit is also set. In BE, a flush completion is indicated with a zero value for num_rcvd in the completion. Such completions don't carry any data and are not processed. This patch refactors code to handle both cases with the same code. 2010-11-27be2net: adding support for Lancer family of CNAsSathya Perla
Key changes are: - EQ ids are not assigned consecutively in Lancer. So, fix mapping of MSIx vector to EQ-id. - BAR mapping and some req locations different for Lancer. - TCP,UDP,IP checksum fields must be compulsorily set in TX wrb for TSO in Lancer. - CEV_IST reg not present in Lancer; so, peek into event queue to check for new entries - cq_create and mcc_create cmd interface is different for Lancer; handle accordingly Signed-off-by: Padmanabh Ratnakar <padmanabh.ratnakar@emulex.com> Signed-off-by: Sathya Perla <sathya.perla@emulex.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2010-10-21be2net: Changes to use only priority codes allowed by f/wSomnath Kotur
Changes to use one of the priority codes allowed by CNA f/w for NIC traffic from host. The driver gets the bit map of the priority codes allowed for host traffic through a asynchronous message from the f/w that the driver subscribes to. 2010-10-21vlan: Rename VLAN_GROUP_ARRAY_LEN to VLAN_N_VID.Jesse Gross
VLAN_GROUP_ARRAY_LEN is simply the number of possible vlan VIDs. Since vlan groups will soon be more of an implementation detail for vlan devices, rename the constant to be descriptive of its actual purpose. 2010-10-03be2net: add multiple RX queue supportSathya Perla
This patch adds multiple RX queue support to be2net. There are upto 4 extra rx-queues per port into which TCP/UDP traffic can be hashed into. 2010-09-03be2net: fix net-snmp error because of wrong packet statsAjit Khaparde
Wrong packet statistics for multicast Rx was causing net-snmp error messages every 15 seconds. Instead of picking the multicast stats from hardware, now maintain it in the driver itself. Signed-off-by: Ajit Khaparde <ajitk@serverengines.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2010-08-25be2net: fix to dynamically generate MAC Address for VFsAjit Khaparde
The BE ASIC/firmware doesnot reserve and assign MAC address for VFs. This results in the VF interfaces being created with MAC Address 0. The code change proposed takes the MAC address of PF to generate a seed. MAC Address for VFs are assigned incrementally starting from the seed. These addresses are programmed in the ASIC by the PF and the VF driver queries for the MAC address during its probe. Signed-off-by: Ajit Khaparde <ajitk@serverengines.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2010-07-30be2net: fix to avoid sending get_stats request if one is already being ↵Ajit Khaparde

If a new request for get stats is fired before the response for the previous get_stats request is received, the response will corrupt the new request, causing the f/w to misbehave. 2010-03-30include cleanup: Update gfp.h and slab.h includes to prepare for breaking ↵Tejun Heo
implicit slab.h inclusion from percpu.h percpu.h is included by sched.h and module.h and thus ends up being included when building most .c files. percpu.h includes slab.h which in turn includes gfp.h making everything defined by the two files universally available and complicating inclusion dependencies. percpu.h -> slab.h dependency is about to be removed. Prepare for this change by updating users of gfp and slab facilities include those headers directly instead of assuming availability. As this conversion needs to touch large number of source files, the following script is used as the basis of conversion. http://userweb.kernel.org/~tj/misc/slabh-sweep.py The script does the followings. * Scan files for gfp and slab usages and update includes such that only the necessary includes are there. ie. if only gfp is used, gfp.h, if slab is used, slab.h. * When the script inserts a new include, it looks at the include blocks and try to put the new include such that its order conforms to its surrounding. It's put in the include block which contains core kernel includes, in the same order that the rest are ordered - alphabetical, Christmas tree, rev-Xmas-tree or at the end if there doesn't seem to be any matching order. * If the script can't find a place to put a new include (mostly because the file doesn't have fitting include block), it prints out an error message indicating which .h file needs to be added to the file. The conversion was done in the following steps. 1. The initial automatic conversion of all .c files updated slightly over 4000 files, deleting around 700 includes and adding ~480 gfp.h and ~3000 slab.h inclusions. The script emitted errors for ~400 files. 2. Each error was manually checked. Some didn't need the inclusion, some needed manual addition while adding it to implementation .h or embedding .c file was more appropriate for others. This step added inclusions to around 150 files. 3. The script was run again and the output was compared to the edits from #2 to make sure no file was left behind. 4. Several build tests were done and a couple of problems were fixed. e.g. lib/decompress_*.c used malloc/free() wrappers around slab APIs requiring slab.h to be added manually. 5. The script was run on all .h files but without automatically editing them as sprinkling gfp.h and slab.h inclusions around .h files could easily lead to inclusion dependency hell. Most gfp.h inclusion directives were ignored as stuff from gfp.h was usually wildly available and often used in preprocessor macros. Each slab.h inclusion directive was examined and added manually as necessary. 6. percpu.h was updated not to include slab.h. 7. Build test were done on the following configurations and failures were fixed. CONFIG_GCOV_KERNEL was turned off for all tests (as my distributed build env didn't work with gcov compiles) and a few more options had to be turned off depending on archs to make things build (like ipr on powerpc/64 which failed due to missing writeq). * x86 and x86_64 UP and SMP allmodconfig and a custom test config. * powerpc and powerpc64 SMP allmodconfig * sparc and sparc64 SMP allmodconfig * ia64 SMP allmodconfig * s390 SMP allmodconfig * alpha SMP allmodconfig * um on x86_64 SMP allmodconfig 8. percpu.h modifications were reverted so that it could be applied as a separate patch and serve as bisection point. Given the fact that I had only a couple of failures from tests on step 6, I'm fairly confident about the coverage of this conversion patch. If there is a breakage, it's likely to be something in one of the arch headers which should be easily discoverable easily on most builds of the specific arch. 2010-03-08be2net: remove usage of be_pci_funcAjit Khaparde
