2011-03-12igb: Add Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) for i350 devices.Carolyn Wyborny
This patch adds the EEE feature for i350 devices, enabled by default. Signed-off-by: Carolyn Wyborny <carolyn.wyborny@intel.com> Tested-by: Jeff Pieper <jeffrey.e.pieper@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com>
2010-12-24igb: Add Anti-spoofing feature supportGreg Rose
Add support for the anti-spoofing feature in the HW. Packets from VF devices with spoofed MAC addresses or VLAN tags will be blocked and an event generated. When the watchdog task runs it will call a function to check if any spoof events occurred. If an event was detected then a warning message is dumped to the system log. 2010-03-30igb: add per-packet timestampingNick Nunley
This patch adds support for per-packet timestamping for the 82580 adapter. The rx timestamp code is also pulled out of the inlined rx hotpath and instead moved to a seperate function. This version adds a comment explaining the per-packet timestamping code added to igb_hwtstamp_ioctl(). 2009-10-28igb: use packet buffer sizes from RXPBS registerAlexander Duyck
This patch changes the configuration for 82576 so that it uses the actual value of the 82576 rx packet buffer size instead of just assuming the value. 2009-10-28igb: cleanup some of the code related to hw timestampingAlexander Duyck
The code for the hw timestamping is a bit bulky and making some of the functions difficult to read. In order to clean things up a bit I am moving the timestamping operations into seperate functions. 2009-10-28igb: setup vlan tag replication stripping in igb_vmm_controlAlexander Duyck
This update adds vlan tag stripping for inter-vf communications to the igb_vmm_control configuration function. Signed-off-by: Alexander Duyck <alexander.h.duyck@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2009-10-06igb: update comments for serdes config and update to handle duplexAlexander Duyck
This update corrects the driver so that it handles duplex for serdes links correctly instead of just forcing full duplex always. 2009-09-14igb: reset sgmii phy at start of initAlexander Duyck
Our SGMII phy code was incomplete in that it was not actually placing the phy in SGMII mode and as a result the PHY was not able to establish a link when connected to a non serdes link partner. This patch updates the code to combine the SGMII/serdes PCS init and to add the necessary reset. 2009-07-26igb: move all multicast addresses into multicast table arrayAlexander Duyck
This patch moves all of the multicast addresses out of the free Receive address registers and instead programs them all into the multicast table array. As a result the multicast filtering may not be as precise, but it also greatly reduces the overhead for multicast addresses. 2009-07-26igb: make serdes power down available for 82575 in addition to 82576 partsAlexander Duyck
There was a serdes power down workaround that was originally added for 82576 fiber. However it has also been found that this workaround is needed for serdes connections as well. In addition it is also needed for 82575 serdes so we we need to remove the checks restricting it to 82576. 2009-04-28igb: Enable SCTP checksum offloadingJesse Brandeburg
Originally from: Vlad Yasevich <vladislav.yasevich@hp.com> This patch, both the driver portion and the sctp code was modified by Jesse Brandeburg and is Copyright(c) 2009 Intel Corporation. Thanks go to Vlad for starting this work. Intel 82576 chipset supports SCTP checksum offloading. This patch enables this functionality in the driver. A new NETIF feature is introduced for SCTP checksum offload. If the driver supports CRC32c checksum, it can set this feature flag. The hardware can offload both transmit and receive. 2009-02-20igb: Add support for enabling VFs to PF driver.Alexander Duyck
This patch adds the support to handle requests from the VF to perform operations such as completing resets, setting/reading mac address, adding vlans, adding multicast addresses, setting rlpml, and general communications between the PF and all VFs. 2009-02-20igb: add pf side of VMDq supportAlexander Duyck
Add the pf portion of vmdq support. This provides enough support so that VMDq is enabled, and the pf is functional without enabling vfs. 2009-02-15igb: remove unused definesAlexander Duyck
This patch removes all of the unused defines from the .h files contained in igb. For some defines there was a use and so I plugged them into the correct locations. 2009-02-15igb: use timecompare to implement hardware time stampingPatrick Ohly
Both TX and RX hardware time stamping are implemented. Due to hardware limitations it is not possible to verify reliably which packet was time stamped when multiple were pending for sending; this could be solved by only allowing one packet marked for hardware time stamping into the queue (not implemented yet). RX time stamping relies on the flag in the packet descriptor which marks packets that were time stamped. In "all packet" mode this flag is not set. TODO: also support that mode (even though it'll suffer from race conditions). 2009-02-07igb: rename igb_update_mc_addr_list_82575 to not include the 82575Alexander Duyck
There isn't much point in having the _82575 hanging off the end of this function since there aren't any other version of this function running around within this driver. This also allows for a bit of whitespace cleanup due to a shorter function name. 2008-07-11igb: add DCA supportJeb Cramer
Add DCA support in the similar method that it was added to the ixgbe driver recently. DCA allows the network device to put data in the CPU cache and notify the chipset of that event. 2008-01-28igb: PCI-Express 82575 Gigabit Ethernet driverAuke Kok
We are pleased to announce a new Gigabit Ethernet product and its driver to the linux community. This product is the Intel(R) 82575 Gigabit Ethernet adapter family. Physical adapters will be available to the public soon. These adapters come in 2- and 4-port versions (copper PHY) currently. Other variants will be available later. The 82575 chipset supports significantly different features that warrant a new driver. The descriptor format is (just like the ixgbe driver) different. The device can use multiple MSI-X vectors and multiple queues for both send and receive. This allows us to optimize some of the driver code specifically as well compared to the e1000-supported devices. This version of the igb driver no lnger uses fake netdevices and incorporates napi_struct members for each ring to do the multi- queue polling. multi-queue is enabled by default and the driver supports NAPI mode only. All the namespace collisions should be gone in this version too. The register macro's have been condensed to improve readability.
