2008-11-12netdevice: safe convert to netdev_priv() #part-2Wang Chen
We have some reasons to kill netdev->priv: 1. netdev->priv is equal to netdev_priv(). 2. netdev_priv() wraps the calculation of netdev->priv's offset, obviously netdev_priv() is more flexible than netdev->priv. But we cann't kill netdev->priv, because so many drivers reference to it directly. This patch is a safe convert for netdev->priv to netdev_priv(netdev). Since all of the netdev->priv is only for read. But it is too big to be sent in one mail. I split it to 4 parts and make every part smaller than 100,000 bytes, which is max size allowed by vger. 2008-11-03drivers/net: Kill now superfluous ->last_rx stores.David S. Miller
The generic packet receive code takes care of setting netdev->last_rx when necessary, for the sake of the bonding ARP monitor. Drivers need not do it any more. Some cases had to be skipped over because the drivers were making use of the ->last_rx value themselves. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2008-10-27net: convert print_mac to %pMJohannes Berg
This converts pretty much everything to print_mac. There were a few things that had conflicts which I have just dropped for now, no harm done. I've built an allyesconfig with this and looked at the files that weren't built very carefully, but it's a huge patch. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes@sipsolutions.net> Signed-off-by: David S. 2008-10-08netdev: uniquify the tx_timeout nameArjan van de Ven
there's several drivers that have use "tx_timeout" for the .. tx timeout function. All fine with that, they're static, however for doing stats on how often which driver hits the timeout it's a tad unfortunate. The patch below gives the ones I found in the kerneloops.org database unique names. Signed-off-by: Arjan van de Ven <arjan@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2008-08-31pcmcia: remove unused argument to pcmcia_parse_tuple()Dominik Brodowski
Since we're just parsing the tuple being passed to this function, we don't need any device-specific information. Also, remove the call to pcmcia_validate_cis() from pcmciamtd.c, since it is already called by the PCMCIA core. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>

2008-02-15Fix station address detection in smcChuck Ebbert
Megahertz EM1144 PCMCIA ethernet adapter needs special handling because it has two VERS_1 tuples and the station address is in the second one. Conversion to generic handling of these fields broke it. 2008-01-183c574, 3c515 bitfields abuseAl Viro
wn3_config is shared by these cards; the way we deal with it is both bad C (union abuse) and broken on big-endian. For 3c515 it's less serious (ISA cards are quite rare outside of little-endian boxen), but 3c574 is a pcmcia one and that'd better be endian-independent... Fix is the same in both cases. 2007-12-223c574 and 3c589 endianness fixes (.24?)Al Viro
Both store MAC address in CIS; there's no decoder for that type (0x88) so the drivers work with raw data. It is byteswapped, so ntohs() works for little-endian, but for big-endian it's wrong. ntohs(le16_to_cpu()) does the right thing on both (and always expands to swab16()).
