2014-03-07wireless/rt2x00: don't use PREPARE_WORK in rt2800usb.cTejun Heo
PREPARE_[DELAYED_]WORK() are being phased out. They have few users and a nasty surprise in terms of reentrancy guarantee as workqueue considers work items to be different if they don't have the same work function. Update rt2800usb.c to use INIT_WORK() instead of PREPARE_WORK(). As the work item isn't in active use during rt2800usb_probe_hw(), this doesn't cause any behavior difference. It would probably be best to route this with other related updates through the workqueue tree. Only compile tested. 2014-03-07can: add bittiming check at interface open for CAN FDOliver Hartkopp
Additionally to have the second (data) bitrate available the data bitrate has to be greater or equal to the arbitration bitrate in CAN FD. 2014-03-07can: allow to change the device mtu for CAN FD capable devicesOliver Hartkopp
The configuration for CAN FD depends on CAN_CTRLMODE_FD enabled in the driver specific ctrlmode_supported capabilities. The configuration can be done either with the 'fd { on | off }' option in the 'ip' tool from iproute2 or by setting the CAN netdevice MTU to CAN_MTU (16) or to CANFD_MTU (72). 2014-03-07can: introduce the data bitrate configuration for CAN FDOliver Hartkopp
As CAN FD offers a second bitrate for the data section of the CAN frame the infrastructure for storing and configuring this second bitrate is introduced. Improved the readability of the if-statement by inserting some newlines. Signed-off-by: Oliver Hartkopp <socketcan@hartkopp.net> Acked-by: Stephane Grosjean <s.grosjean@peak-system.com> Signed-off-by: Marc Kleine-Budde <mkl@pengutronix.de>
2014-03-07can: provide a separate bittiming_const parameter to bittiming functionsOliver Hartkopp
As the bittiming calculation functions are to be used with different bittiming_const structures for CAN and CAN FD the direct reference to priv->bittiming_const inside these functions has to be removed. Also moved the check for existing bittiming const to one place. 2014-03-07can: move sanity check for bitrate and tq into can_get_bittimingOliver Hartkopp
This patch moves a sanity check in order to have a second user for CAN FD. Also simplify the return value generation in can_get_bittiming() as only correct return values of can_[calc|fixup]_bittiming() lead to a return value of zero. Signed-off-by: Oliver Hartkopp <socketcan@hartkopp.net> Acked-by: Stephane Grosjean <s.grosjean@peak-system.com> Signed-off-by: Marc Kleine-Budde <mkl@pengutronix.de>
2014-03-07can: only send bitrate data via netlink when availableOliver Hartkopp
When setting the bitrate both can_calc_bittiming() and can_fixup_bittiming() lead to the bitrate variable to be set, when a proper bit timing is available. Only then the bitrate configuration is stored for the device, so checking for priv->bittiming.bitrate is always sufficient. 2014-03-07can: preserve skbuff protocol in can_put_echo_skbOliver Hartkopp
The skbuff protocol value was formerly fixed/sanitized to ETH_P_CAN in can_put_echo_skb(). With CAN FD this value has to be preserved. This patch changes the hard assignment of the protocol value to a check of valid protocol values for CAN and CAN FD. 2014-03-06i40e: fix nvm version and remove firmware reportJesse Brandeburg
The driver needs to use the format that the current NVM uses when printing the version of the NVM. It should remain this way from now on forward. 2014-03-06net/mlx4_core: mlx4_init_slave() shouldn't access comm channel before PF is ↵Amir Vadai
ready Currently, the PF call to pci_enable_sriov from the PF probe function stalls for 10 seconds times the number of VFs probed on the host. This happens because the way for such VFs to determine of the PF initialization finished, is by attempting to issue reset on the comm-channel and get timeout (after 10s). The PF probe function is called from a kenernel workqueue, and therefore during that time, rcu lock is being held and kernel's workqueue is stalled. This blocks other processes that try to use the workqueue or rcu lock. For example, interface renaming which is calling rcu_synchronize is blocked, and timedout by systemd. Changed mlx4_init_slave() to allow VF probed on the host to immediatly detect that the PF is not ready, and return EPROBE_DEFER instantly. Only when the PF finishes the initialization, allow such VFs to access the comm channel. This issue and fix are relevant only for probed VFs on the hypervisor, there is no way to pass this information to a VM until comm channel is ready, so in a VM, if PF is not ready, the first command will be timedout after 10 seconds and return EPROBE_DEFER. The code to load a MAC address into a u64 for passing to the hypervisor via a register is broken on little endian.
