2013-02-21rtc: max8997: add driver for max8997 rtcJonghwa Lee
Add an rtc driver for Maxim 8997 multifunction chip. Max8997 has rtc module in it. and it can be used for timekeeping clock and system alarm. It provide various operational mode those are BCD/binary, 24/12hour, am/pm. Driver sets binary/24/ for default. Maxim 8997 also supports SMPL(Sudden Momentary Power Loss), WTSR (Watchdog Timeout and Software Reset). 2013-02-21drivers/rtc/rtc-tps65910.c: set irq flag to IRQF_EARLY_RESUME during irq requestLaxman Dewangan
All interrupt get disabled during system suspend and enabled during system resume. The enabling/disabling of interrupt happen in sequence of interrupt registration with framework. Therefore, in resume, the parent interrupt of this device enabled before the RTC irq interrupt enabled. If RTC is enabled for alarm wake and if system wake by alarm then there is interrupt pending for RTC. In resume, the parent interrupt get enabled before the rtc interrupt and hence ISR get served. In ISR, it founds that rtc interrupt is disabled and so it does not call the rtc isr handler and hence it misses the interrupt. Setting flag for early resume so that rtc interrupt get enabled before parent interrupt and so rtc interrupt get enabled when parent interrupt handler check for interrupt of device and call the rtc handler if it is there. This way it will not miss the interrupt. 2013-02-21drivers/rtc/rtc-tps65910.c: remove unnecessary irq stat save and restoreLaxman Dewangan
The driver stores the interrupt enable register before going to suspend and restore in resume. Also it enables alarm before going to suspend. The driver only write the Interrupt enable register for enabling ALARM and does not enable any other bits. So it is not require to save complete register and enable ALARM interrupt before suspend and restore in resume. Also ALARM interrupt already enable if alarm is enabled before going to suspend and hence it is not require to enable explictly in suspend. Removing such above code. 2013-02-19Merge tag 'omap-for-v3.9/usb-signed' of ↵Arnd Bergmann
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap into next/soc These changes contain the OMAP USB related platform data changes that were dropped from linux next because of the merge conflicts as requested by me and Olof. The reason was that at this point we really should be able to do the arch/arm related changes separately from driver changes to avoid dependencies between branches. These patches were initially part of the USB related MFD patches. Based on our comments, Roger Quadros quickly reworked these patches into a shared branch between ARM SoC tree and the MFD tree, then separate patches for the OMAP platform data and MFD driver. Note that this branch will conflict with c1d1cd597fc7 ("ARM: OMAP2+: omap_device: remove obsolete pm_lats and early_device code"). 2013-02-12drivers/rtc/rtc-pl031.c: restore ST variant functionalityLinus Walleij
Commit e7e034e18a0a ("drivers/rtc/rtc-pl031.c: fix the missing operation on enable") accidentally broke the ST variants of PL031. The bit that is being poked as "clockwatch" enable bit for the ST variants does the work of bit 0 on this variant. Bit 0 is used for a clock divider on the ST variants, and setting it to 1 will affect timekeeping in a very bad way. 2013-01-15timekeeping: Add CONFIG_HAS_PERSISTENT_CLOCK optionFeng Tang
Make the persistent clock check a kernel config option, so that some platform can explicitely select it, also make CONFIG_RTC_HCTOSYS and RTC_SYSTOHC depend on its non-existence, which could prevent the persistent clock and RTC code from doing similar thing twice during system's init/suspend/resume phases. If the CONFIG_HAS_PERSISTENT_CLOCK=n, then no change happens for kernel which still does the persistent clock check in timekeeping_init(). 2013-01-15NTP: Add a CONFIG_RTC_SYSTOHC configurationJason Gunthorpe
The purpose of this option is to allow ARM/etc systems that rely on the class RTC subsystem to have the same kind of automatic NTP based synchronization that we have on PC platforms. Today ARM does not implement update_persistent_clock and makes extensive use of the class RTC system. When enabled CONFIG_RTC_SYSTOHC will provide a generic rtc_update_persistent_clock that stores the current time in the RTC and is intended complement the existing CONFIG_RTC_HCTOSYS option that loads the RTC at boot. Like with RTC_HCTOSYS the platform's update_persistent_clock is used first, if it works. Platforms with mixed class RTC and non-RTC drivers need to return ENODEV when class RTC should be used. Such an update for PPC is included in this patch. Long term, implementations of update_persistent_clock should migrate to proper class RTC drivers and use CONFIG_RTC_SYSTOHC instead. 2013-01-06hid: iio: rename struct hid_sensor_iio_common to hid_sensor_commonAlexander Holler
The structure with common attributes for hid-sensors isn't specific to the iio-subsystem, so rename it to hid_sensor_common. Signed-off-by: Alexander Holler <holler@ahsoftware.de> Acked-by: Jiri Kosina <jkosina@suse.cz> Signed-off-by: Jonathan Cameron <jic23@kernel.org>
2013-01-06rtc: add rtc-driver for HID sensors of type timeAlexander Holler
This driver makes the time from HID sensors (hubs) which are offering such available like any other RTC does. It is necessary that all values like year, month etc, are send as 8bit values (1 byte each) and all of them in 1 report. Also the spec HUTRR39b doesn't define the range of the year field, we tread it as 0 - 99 because that's what most RTCs I know about are offering. Currently the time can only be read. Setting the time must be done through sending a report (or a feature). The spec currently doesn't define how and I'm not sure if I just should define something by myself. 2013-01-04drivers/rtc/rtc-vt8500.c: fix handling of data passed in struct rtc_timeTony Prisk
tm_mon is 0..11, whereas vt8500 expects 1..12 for the month field, causing invalid date errors for January, and causing the day field to roll over incorrectly. The century flag is only handled in vt8500_rtc_read_time, but not set in vt8500_rtc_set_time. This patch corrects the behaviour of the century flag. 2013-01-04drivers/rtc/rtc-vt8500.c: correct handling of CR_24H bitfieldTony Prisk
Control register bitfield for 12H/24H mode is handled incorrectly. Setting CR_24H actually enables 12H mode. This patch renames the define and changes the initialization code to correctly set 24H mode. 2013-01-03Drivers: rtc: remove __dev* attributes.Greg Kroah-Hartman
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As a result, the __dev* markings need to be removed. This change removes the use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit from these drivers. Based on patches originally written by Bill Pemberton, but redone by me in order to handle some of the coding style issues better, by hand. 2012-12-20revert "rtc: recycle id when unloading a rtc driver"Andrew Morton
Revert commit 2830a6d20139df2198d63235df7957712adb28e5. We already perform the ida_simple_remove() in rtc_device_release(), which is an appropriate place. Commit 2830a6d20 ("rtc: recycle id when unloading a rtc driver") caused the kernel to emit ida_remove called for id=0 which is not allocated. warnings when rtc_device_release() tries to release an alread-released ID. Let's restore things to their previous state and then work out why Vincent's kernel wasn't calling rtc_device_release() - presumably a bug in a specific sub-driver.
