2010-11-03kgdboc: reset input devices (keyboards) when exiting debuggerDmitry Torokhov
Use the newly exported input_reset_device() call to reset LED state and mark all keys/buttons as released on all keyboard-like devices when exiting the debugger. 2010-10-22kdb,kgdb: fix sparse fixupsJason Wessel
Fix the following sparse warnings: kdb_main.c:328:5: warning: symbol 'kdbgetu64arg' was not declared. Should it be static? kgdboc.c:246:12: warning: symbol 'kgdboc_early_init' was not declared. Should it be static? kgdb.c:652:26: warning: incorrect type in argument 1 (different address spaces) kgdb.c:652:26: expected void const *ptr kgdb.c:652:26: got struct perf_event *[noderef] <asn:3>*pev The one in kgdb.c required the (void * __force) because of the return code from register_wide_hw_breakpoint looking like: return (void __percpu __force *)ERR_PTR(err); Signed-off-by: Jason Wessel <jason.wessel@windriver.com>
2010-08-05kgdboc: Add call backs to allow kernel mode switchingJason Wessel
Add the kms keyword processing to kgdboc and the callbacks to invoke console switching when ever kgdboc is started with "kgdboc=kms, kbd". Signed-off-by: Jason Wessel <jason.wessel@windriver.com> Signed-off-by: Jesse Barnes <jbarnes@virtuousgeek.org>
2010-05-20kgdboc: Add ekgdboc for early use of the kernel debuggerJason Wessel
The ekgdboc= differs from kgdboc= in that you can begin debuggin as soon as the exceptions are setup and the kgdb I/O driver is available, instead of waiting until the tty subsystem is available. CC: kgdb-bugreport@lists.sourceforge.net Signed-off-by: Jason Wessel <jason.wessel@windriver.com>
2010-05-20kgdboc,kdb: Allow kdb to work on a non open console portJason Wessel
If kdb is open on a serial port that is not actually a console make sure to call the poll routines to emit and receive characters. Signed-off-by: Jason Wessel <jason.wessel@windriver.com> Acked-by: Martin Hicks <mort@sgi.com>
2010-05-20kgdboc,keyboard: Keyboard driver for kdb with kgdbJason Wessel
This patch adds in the kdb PS/2 keyboard driver. This was mostly a direct port from the original kdb where I cleaned up the code against checkpatch.pl and added the glue to stitch it into kgdb. This patch also enables early kdb debug via kgdbwait and the keyboard. All the access to configure kdb using either a serial console or the keyboard is done via kgdboc. If you want to use only the keyboard and want to break in early you would add to your kernel command arguments: kgdboc=kbd kgdbwait If you wanted serial and or the keyboard access you could use: kgdboc=kbd,ttyS0 You can also configure kgdboc as a kernel module or at run time with the sysfs where you can activate and deactivate kgdb. Turn it on: echo kbd,ttyS0 > /sys/module/kgdboc/parameters/kgdboc Turn it off: echo "" > /sys/module/kgdboc/parameters/kgdboc Signed-off-by: Jason Wessel <jason.wessel@windriver.com> Reviewed-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dmitry.torokhov@gmail.com>
2008-04-30tty: The big operations reworkAlan Cox
- Operations are now a shared const function block as with most other Linux objects - Introduce wrappers for some optional functions to get consistent behaviour - Wrap put_char which used to be patched by the tty layer - Document which functions are needed/optional - Make put_char report success/fail - Cache the driver->ops pointer in the tty as tty->ops - Remove various surplus lock calls we no longer need - Remove proc_write method as noted by Alexey Dobriyan - Introduce some missing sanity checks where certain driver/ldisc combinations would oops as they didn't check needed methods were present [akpm@linux-foundation.org: fix fs/compat_ioctl.c build] [akpm@linux-foundation.org: fix isicom] [akpm@linux-foundation.org: fix arch/ia64/hp/sim/simserial.c build] [akpm@linux-foundation.org: fix kgdb] Signed-off-by: Alan Cox <alan@redhat.com> Acked-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de> Cc: Jason Wessel <jason.wessel@windriver.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
2008-04-17kgdb: fix kgdboc dynamic module configurationJason Wessel
Fix the run time configuration of kgdboc such that it does not default to 9600 baud if you use the "echo" command to configure the sysfs module paramater. Signed-off-by: Jason Wessel <jason.wessel@windriver.com> Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu>
2008-04-17consoles: polling support, kgdbocJason Wessel
polled console handling support, to access a console in an irq-less way while in debug or irq context. absolutely zero impact as long as CONFIG_CONSOLE_POLL is disabled.
