2012-01-06watchdog: convert drivers/watchdog/* to use module_platform_driver()Axel Lin
This patch converts the drivers in drivers/watchdog/* to use the module_platform_driver() macro which makes the code smaller and a bit simpler. 2011-05-26mfd: Use mfd cell platform_data for rdc321x cells platform bitsSamuel Ortiz
With the addition of a platform device mfd_cell pointer, MFD drivers can go back to passing platform data back to their sub drivers. This allows for an mfd_cell->mfd_data removal and thus keep the sub drivers MFD agnostic. This is mostly needed for non MFD aware sub drivers. 2011-03-23rdc321x-southbridge: Use mfd_data instead of driver_dataAndres Salomon
Use mfd_data for passing information from mfd drivers to soc clients. The mfd_cell's driver_data field is being phased out. Clients that were using driver_data now access .mfd_data via mfd_get_data(). Signed-off-by: Andres Salomon <dilinger@queued.net> Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@linux.intel.com>
2010-12-22watchdog: Fix null pointer dereference while accessing rdc321x platform_dataFlorian Fainelli
rdc321x-wdt currently fetches its driver specific data by using the platform_device->platform_data pointer, this is wrong because the mfd device which registers our platform_device has been added using mfd_add_device() which sets the platform_device->driver_data pointer instead. 2010-05-28mfd: Change rdc321x resources flags to IORESOURCE_IOFlorian Fainelli
The rdc321x southbridge PCI device has no MEM PCI resources that we could pass to mfd_add_devices. Since 33254dd5, mfd_add_device checks for the mem_base argument that we set to NULL. Changing the resources passed to our MFD cells from IORESOURCE_MEM to IORESOURCE_IO fixes that. Since we use those resources as offsets to the PCI configuration space base address of the southbridge device this is also more adequate. 2010-05-28watchdog: Convert rdc321x_wdt to use southbridge pci deviceFlorian Fainelli
The RDC321x MFD southbridge driver will pass a reference to the southbridge PCI device which should be used by the watchdog driver for its operations. This patch converts the watchdog driver to use the pci_dev pointer and make use of the base register resource which is passed along with the platform device. 2009-06-18[WATCHDOG] move platform probe and remove function to devinit and devexitWim Van Sebroeck
A pointer to probe and remove functions is passed to the core via platform_driver_register and so the function must not disappear when the .init sections are discarded. Otherwise (if also having HOTPLUG=y) unbinding and binding a device to the driver via sysfs will result in an oops as does a device being registered late. 2009-01-18x86, rdc321x: remove/move leftover filesIngo Molnar
Impact: cleanup Move/remove leftover RDC321 files. Now that it's not a subarch anymore, arch/x86/mach-rdc321x and arch/x86/include/asm/mach-rdc321x/ are not needed. One include file was still in use: rdc321x_defs.h, move that to the generic x86 asm header directory. Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu>
