This change fixes a problem introduced by recent commit c34c82b
(ACPICA: Predefine names: Add allowed argument types to master info
table) in 20130328 where _INI methods are no longer executed properly
because of a memory block that is not initialized properly. ACPICA

Can only happen under these conditions: 1) The DSDT version is 1,
meaning integers are 32-bits. 2) The field is between 33 and 64
bits long.
It applies cleanly back to ACPICA 20100806+ (Linux v2.6.37+).

which is quite obvious, because that commit put (multiple instances
of) sysfs_create_file() under rcu_read_lock()/rcu_read_unlock(),
although sysfs_create_file() may cause memory to be allocated with
GFP_KERNEL and that may sleep, which is not permitted in RCU read
critical section.
Revert the buggy commit altogether along with some changes on top
of it.

Currently cpuidle drivers are spread across different archs.
As a result, there are several different paths for cpuidle patch
submissions: cpuidle core changes go through linux-pm, ARM driver
changes go to the arm-soc or SoC-specific trees, sh changes go
through the sh arch tree, pseries changes go through the PowerPC tree
and finally intel changes go through the Len's tree while ACPI idle
changes go through linux-pm.
That makes it difficult to consolidate code and to propagate
modifications from the cpuidle core to the different drivers.
Hopefully, a movement has started to put the majority of cpuidle
drivers under drivers/cpuidle like cpuidle-calxeda.c and
cpuidle-kirkwood.c.
Add a maintainer entry for cpuidle to MAINTAINERS to clarify the
situation and to indicate to new cpuidle driver authors that those
drivers should not go into arch-specific directories.
The upstreaming process is unchanged: Rafael takes patches for
merging into his tree, but with an Acked-by: tag from the driver's
maintainer, so indicate in the drivers' headers who maintains them.
The arrangement will be the same as for cpufreq.

Commit 4ae46be "Thermal: Introduce thermal_zone_trip_update()"
introduced a regression causing the fan to be always on even when
the system is idle.
My original idea in that commit is that:
- when the current temperature is above the trip point,
keep the fan on, even if the temperature is dropping.
- when the current temperature is below the trip point,
turn on the fan when the temperature is raising,
turn off the fan when the temperature is dropping.
But this is what the code actually does:
- when the current temperature is above the trip point,
the fan keeps on.
- when the current temperature is below the trip point,
the fan is always on because thermal_get_trend()
in driver/acpi/thermal.c returns THERMAL_TREND_RAISING.
Thus the fan keeps running even if the system is idle.
Fix this in drivers/acpi/thermal.c.

gcc-3.8 correctly found that the variables set by find_freq_tables()
are not initialized if this function is called on something other
than a pxa2xx or pxa3xx:

acpi_video_bus_get_devices() may fail due to some video output device
doesn't have the _ADR method, and in this case, the error processing
is to simply free the video structure in acpi_video_bus_add(), while
leaving those already registered video output devices in the wild,
which means for some video output device, we have already registered
a backlight interface and installed a notification handler for it.
So it can happen when user is using this system, on hotkey pressing,
the notification handler will send a keycode through a non-existing
input device, causing kernel freeze.
To solve this problem, free all those already registered video output
devices once something goes wrong in acpi_video_bus_get_devices(), so
that no wild backlight interfaces and notification handlers exist.

Commit 53aac44 (ACPI: Store valid ACPI tables passed via early initrd
in reserved memblock areas) introduced acpi_initrd_override() that
passes a wrong value as the second argument to memblock_reserve().
Namely, the second argument of memblock_reserve() is the size of the
region, not the address of the top of it, so make
acpi_initrd_override() pass the size in there as appropriate.

The usual scheme to initialize a cpuidle driver on a SMP is:
cpuidle_register_driver(drv);
for_each_possible_cpu(cpu) {

}
This code is duplicated in each cpuidle driver.
On UP systems, it is done this way:
cpuidle_register_driver(drv);
device = &per_cpu(cpuidle_dev, cpu);
cpuidle_register_device(device);
On UP, the macro 'for_each_cpu' does one iteration:

Hence, the initialization loop is the same for UP than SMP.
Beside, we saw different bugs / mis-initialization / return code unchecked in
the different drivers, the code is duplicated including bugs. After fixing all
these ones, it appears the initialization pattern is the same for everyone.
Please note, some drivers are doing dev->state_count = drv->state_count. This is
not necessary because it is done by the cpuidle_enable_device function in the
cpuidle framework. This is true, until you have the same states for all your
devices. Otherwise, the 'low level' API should be used instead with the specific
initialization for the driver.
Let's add a wrapper function doing this initialization with a cpumask parameter
for the coupled idle states and use it for all the drivers.
That will save a lot of LOC, consolidate the code, and the modifications in the
future could be done in a single place. Another benefit is the consolidation of
the cpuidle_device variable which is now in the cpuidle framework and no longer
spread accross the different arch specific drivers.

Currently we decide if the _BQC is using index by first setting the
level to maximum, and then check if _BQC returned maximum; if not, we
say it is using index.
This is not true for some buggy systems, where the _BQC method will
always return a constant value(e.g. 0 or 100 for the two broken system)
and thus break the current logic. So this patch tries to enhance the
quirk detect logic for _BQC: we do this by picking a test_level, it can
be the maximum level or the mininum one based on some condition. And we
don't make the assumption that if _BQC returned a value that is not what
we just set, it must be using an index. Instead, we will compare the
value returned from _BQC and if it doesn't match, see if the returned
value is an index. And if still no, clear the capability of _BQC.

DT nodes should be put using of_node_put() to balance their usage counts. This
is not done properly in ARM's big LITTLE driver. Fix it.

Some cpufreq drivers implement their own governor and so don't need
us to call generic governors interface via __cpufreq_governor(). Few
recent commits haven't obeyed this law well and we saw some
regressions.
This patch is an attempt to fix the above issue.

When building ax88796 on an ARM platform with 64-bit resource_size_t,
we currently get
drivers/net/ethernet/8390/ax88796.c:875: undefined reference to `__aeabi_uldivmod'
because we do a division on the length of the MMIO resource.
Since we know that this resource is very short, using an
"unsigned long" instead of "resource_size_t" is entirely
sufficient, and avoids this link-time error.

We normally trust and use the CDC functional descriptors provided by a
number of devices. But some of these will erroneously list the address
reserved for the device end of the link. Attempting to use this on
both the device and host side will naturally not work.
Work around this bug by ignoring the functional descriptor and assign a
random address instead in this case.

The bogus address is always the same, and matches the address
suggested by many devices as a default address. It is likely a
hardcoded firmware default.
The circumstances where this bug has been observed indicates that
the trigger is related to timing or some other factor the host
cannot control. Repeating the exact same configuration sequence
that caused it to trigger once, will not necessarily cause it to
trigger the next time. Reproducing the bug is therefore difficult.
This opens up a possibility that the bug is more common than we can
confirm, because affected devices often will work properly again
after a reset. A procedure most users are likely to try out before
reporting a bug.
Unconditionally rewriting the destination address if the first digit
of the received packet is 0, is considered an acceptable compromise
since we already have to inspect this digit. The simplification will
cause unnecessary rewrites if the real address starts with 0, but this
is still better than adding additional tests for this particular case.

A number of LTE devices from different vendors all suffer from the
same firmware bug: Most of the packets received from the device while
it is attached to a LTE network will not have an ethernet header. The
devices work as expected when attached to 2G or 3G networks, sending
an ethernet header with all packets.
This driver is not aware of which network the modem attached to, and
even if it were there are still some packet types which are always
received with the header intact.
All devices supported by this driver have severely limited
networking capabilities:
- can only transmit IPv4, IPv6 and possibly ARP
- can only support a single host hardware address at any time
- will only do point-to-point communcation with the host
Because of this, we are able to reliably identify any bogus raw IP
packets by simply looking at the 4 IP version bits. All we need to
do is to avoid 4 or 6 in the first digit of the mac address. This
workaround ensures this, and fix up the received packets as necessary.
Given the distribution of the bug, it is believed that the source is
the chipset vendor. The devices which are verified to be affected are:
Huawei E392u-12 (Qualcomm MDM9200)
Pantech UML290 (Qualcomm MDM9600)
Novatel USB551L (Qualcomm MDM9600)
Novatel E362 (Qualcomm MDM9600)
It is believed that the bug depend on firmware revision, which means
that possibly all devices based on the above mentioned chipset may be
affected if we consider all available firmware revisions.
The information about affected devices and versions is likely
incomplete. As the additional overhead for packets not needing this
fixup is very small, it is considered acceptable to apply the
workaround to all devices handled by this driver.

slave_disable_netpoll() is not called upon enslave failure which would
lead to a memory leak. Call slave_disable_netpoll() after err_detach as
that's the first error path after enabling netpoll on that slave.

On enslave failure primary_slave can point to new_slave which is to be
freed, and the same applies to curr_active_slave. So check if this is
the case and clean up properly after err_detach because that's the first
error code path after they're set.
