With the current version of CPER, there's no way to associate an
error with the memory error. So, the error location in EDAC
layers is unused.
As CPER has its own idea about memory architectural layers, just
output whatever is there inside the driver's detail at the RAS
tracepoint.
The EDAC location keeps untouched, in the case that, in some future,
we could actually map the error into the dimm labels.

The UEFI spec defines the memory error types ans the bits that
validate each field on the memory error record, at
Appendix N om items N.2.5 (Memory Error Section) and
N.2.11 (Error Status). Make the error description compliant with
it, only showing the valid fields.

Provide a better infrastructure for printk's inside the driver:
- use edac_dbg() for debug messages;
- standardize the usage of pr_info();
- provide warning about the risk of relying on this
driver.
While here, changes the size of a fake memory to 1 page. This is
as good or as bad as 1000 pages, but it is easier for userspace to
detect, as I don't expect that any machine implementing GHES would
provide just 1 page available ;)

On my tests on a 4xE5-4650 CPU's system, the GHES
EDAC driver is called twice. As the SMBIOS DMI enumeration
call will seek for the entire DIMM sockets in the system, on
this machine, equipped with 128 GB of RAM, the memory is
displayed twice:

Register GHES at EDAC MC core, in order to avoid other
drivers to also handle errors and mangle with error data.
The edac core will warrant that just one driver will be used,
so the first one to register (BIOS first) will be the one that
will be reporting the hardware errors.
For now, the EDAC driver does nothing but to register at the
EDAC core, preventing the hardware-driven mechanism to
interfere with GHES.

In order to allow reporting errors via EDAC, add hooks for:
1) register an EDAC driver;
2) unregister an EDAC driver;
3) report errors via EDAC.
As the EDAC driver will need to access the ghes structure, adds it
as one of the parameters for ghes_do_proc.

Fengguang Wu reminded me that there were outstanding sparse reports
in the ceph and rbd code. This patch fixes these problems in rbd
that lead to those reports:
- Convert functions that are never referenced externally to have
static scope.
- Add a lockdep annotation to rbd_request_fn(), because it
releases a lock before acquiring it again.

Add dout() calls to facilitate tracing of image and object requests.
Change a few existing calls so they use __func__ rather than the
hard-coded function name. Have calls always add ":" after the name
of the function, and prefix pointer values with a consistent tag
indicating what it represents. (Note that there remain some older
dout() calls that are left untouched by this patch.)
Issue a warning if rbd_osd_write_callback() ever gets a short write.

I'm afraid this may not have gotten it right:
07741308 rbd: add barriers near done flag operations
The smp_wmb() should have been done *before* setting the done flag,
to ensure all other data was valid before marking the object request
done.
Switch to use atomic_inc_return() here to set the done flag, which
allows us to verify we don't mark something done more than once.
Doing this also implies general barriers before and after the call.
And although a read memory barrier might have been sufficient before
reading the done flag, convert this to a full memory barrier just
to put this issue to bed.

The old request code simply ignored zero-length requests. We should
still operate that same way to avoid any changes in behavior. We
can implement handling for special zero-length requests separately
(see http://tracker.ceph.com/issues/4236).
Add some assertions based on this new constraint.

The name of FEATURE_AUTOSUSPEND is very misleading and the actual
meaning is remote wakeup, but a device incapable of remote wakeup
still can support USB autosuspend under some situations, so rename
it to avoid misunderstanding.

Commit b2d4b150(smsc95xx: enable dynamic autosuspend) implements
autosuspend, but breaks current runtime suspend, such as:
when the interface becomes down, the usb device can't be put into
runtime suspend any more.
This patch fixes the broken runtime suspend.

return > 0 in case of success, so they will cause smsc95xx_suspend()
to return > 0 and cause suspend failure.
The bug is introduced in commit 3b9f7d(smsc95xx: fix error handling

Reflect this dependency in Kconfig, to prevent build failures.
Shorten the config description as suggested by Borislav Petkov.
Finding a suitable memory area to store the modified table(s) has been
taken over from arch/x86/kernel/setup.c and makes use of max_low_pfn_mapped:
memblock_find_in_range(0, max_low_pfn_mapped,...)
This one is X86 specific. It may not be hard to extend this functionality
for other ACPI aware architectures if there is need for.
For now make this feature only available for X86 to avoid build failures on
IA64, compare with:

Do not enable memory windows allocation for virtual functions.
In addition, add a few safety checks, such as:
* Verifying the PD of a new MPT matches the VF.
* Making sure binding memory window isn't enabled for FMRs, and

If IPoIB fails to look up a path record (eg if it tries during an SM
failover when one SM is dead but the new one hasn't taken over yet), the
driver ends up with a neighbour structure but no address handle (AH).
There's no mechanism to recover from this: any further packets sent to
this destination will be silently dumped in ipoib_start_xmit().
Fix this by freeing the neighbour structures when a path rec query
fails, so that the next packet queued to be sent will trigger a new path
record query.

If an SRP target is no longer reachable and srp_reset_host() fails to
reconnect then ib_srp will invoke scsi_remove_host(). That function
will invoke __scsi_remove_device() for each LUN. And that last
function will change the device state from SDEV_TRANSPORT_OFFLINE into
SDEV_CANCEL. Certain user space software, e.g. older versions of
multipathd, continue queueing I/O to SCSI devices that are in the
SDEV_CANCEL state.
If these I/O requests are submitted as SG_IO that means that the
REQ_PREEMPT flag will be set and hence that these requests will be
passed to srp_queuecommand(). These requests will time out. If new
requests are queued fast enough from user space these active requests
will prevent __scsi_remove_device() to finish.
Avoid this by failing I/O requests in the SDEV_CANCEL state if the
transport is offline. Introduce a new variable to keep track of the
transport state instead of failing requests if (!target->connected ||
target->qp_in_error), so that the SCSI error handler has a chance to
retry commands after a transport layer failure occurred.

If a SCSI command times out it is passed to the SCSI error
handler. The SCSI error handler will try to abort the commands that
timed out. If aborting fails, a device reset will be attempted. If
the device reset also fails a host reset will be attempted. If the
host reset also fails the whole procedure will be repeated.
srp_abort() and srp_reset_device() fail for a QP in the error state.
srp_reset_host() fails after host removal has started. Hence if the
SCSI error handler gets invoked after host removal has started and
with the QP in the error state an endless loop will be triggered.
Modify the SCSI error handling functions in ib_srp as follows:
- Abort SCSI commands properly even if the QP is in the error state.
- Make srp_reset_host() reset SCSI requests even after host removal
has already started or if reconnecting fails.

Looking at the code it is clear 'vlan' is only set and used if 'is_eth'
is non-zero. But by initializing 'vlan' to 0xffff, on
gcc (Ubuntu 4.7.2-22ubuntu1) 4.7.2
on x86-64 at least, we fix the warning, and the compiler was already
setting 'vlan' to 0 in the generated code, so there's no real downside.

Recently at native Rafael did some cleanup for acpi, say, drop
acpi_bus_add, remove unnecessary argument of acpi_bus_scan,
and run acpi_bus_scan under acpi_scan_lock.
This patch does similar cleanup for xen cpu hotplug, removing
redundant logic, and adding lock.

Dan Carpenter found current xen memory hotplug logic
has potential issue: at func acpi_memory_get_device()
*mem_device = acpi_driver_data(device);
while the device may be NULL and then dereference.
At native side, Rafael recently updated acpi_memory_get_device(),
dropping acpi_bus_add, adding lock, and avoiding above issue.
This patch updates xen memory hotplug logic accordingly, removing
redundant logic, adding lock, and avoiding dereference.

better card detection code path and now also supports the RTS5227

Pull libata updates from Jeff Garzik:
1) apply, and then revert, the sysfs export of ATA host controller
number. Discussion was continuing after patch application, trying to
figure out how to best mesh exported data with the installers,
boot-time agents and other parties that want this info.
2) Merge Zero-Power Optical Device Driver (ZPODD) support, bringing the
wonderfulness of sane power management to your CD/DVD device.
Includes one SCSI-subsystem patch (with appropriate ACKs), adding
runtime PM support to 'sr' driver. That is the ZPODD interaction
bits.
Patchset went through some 13 revisions before it got here; kudos to
Intel for persistence.
3) pata_samsung_cf: use devm_clk_get()
4) more ata_piix, ahci PCI IDs
5) Add SATA driver for R-Car SoC
6) Convert libata to use devm_ioremap_resource (Note: I think Greg sent
this to you, also)
7) Set proper Sense Key (SK) in the SCSI simulator when ATA passthrough
indicates check condition. Google and specification hawks everywhere

Commit 81732c3b2fed ("tty vt: Fix line garbage in virtual console on
command line edition") broke insert_char() in multiple ways. Then
commit b1a925f44a3a ("tty vt: Fix a regression in command line edition")
partially fixed it. However, the buffer being moved is still too large
and overflowing beyond the end of the current line, corrupting existing
characters on the next line.
Example test case:

Expected result:
ab c
de
Current result:
ab c
e
Needless to say that this is very annoying when inserting words in the
middle of paragraphs with certain text editors.

Noticed that vmxnet3's get_ringparam function was returning the summation of all
ring buffers on a NIC, rather than just the size of any one ring. This causes
problems when a vmxnet3 instance has multiple queues, as ethtool, when setting
ring parameters, first gets the current ring parameters to set the existing
values in the set_ringparm commannd. The result is, that unless both rx and tx
ring sizes are set in a single operation, which ever ring is not set will
silently have its ring count multiplied by the number of queues on the NIC until
it reaches a driver defined maxiumum value.
Fix it by not multiplying the rx and tx ring sizes by the number of queues in
the system, like every other driver. Tested by myself successfully.

After making them static, discovered that several functions were actually never used.

"This has two new ACPI drivers for Xen - a physical CPU offline/online
and a memory hotplug. The way this works is that ACPI kicks the
drivers and they make the appropiate hypercall to the hypervisor to
tell it that there is a new CPU or memory. There also some changes to
the Xen ARM ABIs and couple of fixes. One particularly nasty bug in
the Xen PV spinlock code was fixed by Stefan Bader - and has been
there since the 2.6.32!

to be aware of new CPU and new DIMMs

This adds the chromeos_laptop driver. It supports
the Cypress APA SMBUS touchpad as well as the isl29018 i2c ambient
light sensor on the Samsung Series 5 550 Chromebook.

The new B series BIOS has version string 43CN46WW. The driver
requires that 2nd and 3rd characters be 'E' and 'T' respectively,
where as the newer BIOS has 'C' and 'N' respectively. Failing to
load the module causes some of the hotkeys to not work.
