2008-04-18[XFS] Propagate errors from xfs_trans_commit().David Chinner
xfs_trans_commit() can return errors when there are problems in the transaction subsystem. They are indicative that the entire transaction may be incomplete, and hence the error should be propagated as there is a good possibility that there is something fatally wrong in the filesystem. Catch and propagate or warn about commit errors in the places where they are currently ignored. 2008-04-18[XFS] remove most calls to VN_RELEChristoph Hellwig
Most VN_RELE calls either directly contain a XFS_ITOV or have the corresponding xfs_inode already in scope. Use the IRELE helper instead of VN_RELE to clarify the code. With a little more work we can kill VN_RELE altogether and define IRELE in terms of iput directly. 2007-07-14[XFS] Don't grow filesystems past the size they can index.Nathan Scott
When growing a filesystem we don't check to see if the new size overflows the page cache index range, so we can do silly things like grow a filesystem page 16TB on a 32bit. Check new filesystem sizes against the limits the kernel can support. made me look at this code (bug id #344). We only return with XFS_ERROR(EINVAL) if mp->m_rtdev_targp is valid and pass it otherwise to xfs_read_buf() where some function calls later it gets dereferenced by an assert. the range spanned by modifications to the in-core extent map. Add XFS_BUNMAPI() and XFS_SWAP_EXTENTS() macros that call xfs_bunmapi() and xfs_swap_extents() via the ioops vector. Change all calls that may modify the in-core extent map for the data fork to go through the ioops vector. This allows a cache of extent map data to be kept in sync. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
