2008-01-28[PPC] Remove 85xx from arch/ppcKumar Gala
85xx exists in arch/powerpc as well as cuImage support to boot from a u-boot that doesn't support device trees. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
2007-05-09[POWERPC] Change rheap functions to use ulongs instead of pointersTimur Tabi
The rheap allocation functions return a pointer, but the actual value is based on how the heap was initialized, and so it can be anything, e.g. an offset into a buffer. A ulong is a better representation of the value returned by the allocation functions. This patch changes all of the relevant rheap functions to use a unsigned long integers instead of a pointer. In case of an error, the value returned is a negative error code that has been cast to an unsigned long. The caller can use the IS_ERR_VALUE() macro to check for this. All code which calls the rheap functions is updated accordingly. Macros IS_MURAM_ERR() and IS_DPERR(), have been deleted in favor of IS_ERR_VALUE(). Also added error checking to rh_attach_region(). 2006-09-21POWERPC: overhaul with cpm2_map mechanismVitaly Bordug
Incorporating the new way of cpm2 immr access, introduced in the previous patch, into CPM2 peripheral devices (fs_enet and cpm_uart). Both ppc and powerpc approved working( real actions taken in powerpc only, ppc just has a wrapper to keep init stuff consistent). Signed-off-by: Vitaly Bordug <vbordug@ru.mvista.com>
2006-09-21POWERPC: Get rid of remapping the whole immrVitaly Bordug
The stuff below cleans up the code attempting to remap the whole cpm2_immr early, as well as places happily assuming that fact. This is more like the 2.4 legacy stuff, and is at least confusing and unclear now. To keep the world comfortable, a new mechanism is introduced: before accessing specific immr register/register set, one needs to map it, using cpm2_map(<reg>), for instance, access to CPM command register will look like volatile cpm_cpm2_t *cp = cpm2_map(im_cpm); keeping the code clear, yet without "already defined somewhere" cpm2_immr. So far, unmapping code is not implemented, but it's not a big deal to add it, if the whole idea makes sense. Signed-off-by: Vitaly Bordug <vbordug@ru.mvista.com>
2006-09-21POWERPC: Move generic cpm2 stuff to powerpcVitaly Bordug
This moves the cpm2 common code and PIC stuff to the powerpc. Most of the files were just copied from ppc/, with minor tuning to make it compile, and, subsequently, work. Signed-off-by: Vitaly Bordug <vbordug@ru.mvista.com>
2006-08-19[PATCH] ppc32: board-specific part of fs_enet updateVitaly Bordug
This contains board-specific portion to respect driver changes (for 8272ads , 885ads and 866ads). Altered platform_data structures as well as initial setup routines relevant to fs_enet. Changes to the mpc8560ads ppc/ code are also introduced, but mainly as reference, since the entire board support is going to appear in arch/powerpc. 2006-05-03[PATCH] ppc32 CPM_UART: Fixed break send on SCCVitaly Bordug
SCC uart sends a break sequence each time it is stopped with the CPM_CR_STOP_TX command. That means that each time an application closes the serial device, a break is transmitted. To fix this, graceful tx stop is issued for SCC. 2005-11-18[PATCH] ppc32: add missing define for fs_enet Ethernet driverVitaly Bordug
This adds the FCC_PSMR_RMII defenition, which is used in fs_enet to enable RMII mode. Signed-off-by: Vitaly Bordug <vbordug@ru.mvista.com> Cc: Jeff Garzik <jgarzik@pobox.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
2005-10-29[PATCH] ppc32: ppc_sys fixes for 8xx and 82xxVitaly Bordug
This patch fixes a numbers of issues regarding to that both 8xx and 82xx began to use ppc_sys model: - Platform is now identified by default deviceless SOC, if no BOARD_CHIP_NAME is specified in the bard-specific header. For the list of supported names refer to (arch/ppc/syslib/) mpc8xx_sys.c and mpc82xx_sys.c for 8xx and 82xx respectively. - Fixed a bug in identification by name - if the name was not found, it returned -1 instead of default deviceless ppc_spec. - fixed devices amount in the 8xx platform system descriptions Signed-off-by: Vitaly Bordug <vbordug@ru.mvista.com> Signed-off-by: Marcelo Tosatti <marcelo.tosatti@cyclades.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <kumar.gala@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
2005-07-27[PATCH] ppc32: Add proper prototype for cpm2_reset()Kumar Gala

2005-05-28[PATCH] ppc32: Support for 82xx PQII on-chip PCI bridgeVitaly Bordug
This patch adds on-chip PCI bridge support for the PQ2 family. The incomplete existent code is updated with interrupt handling stuff and board-specific bits for 8272ADS and PQ2FADS; the related files were renamed (from m8260_pci to m82xx_pci) to be of more generic fashion. This is tested with 8266ADS and 8272ADS, should work on PQ2FADS as well. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
