2014-09-19net: Export inet_offloads and inet6_offloadsTom Herbert
Want to be able to use these in foo-over-udp offloads, etc. Signed-off-by: Tom Herbert <therbert@google.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-11-28net: remove outdated comment for ipv4 and ipv6 protocol handlerBaker Zhang
since f9242b6b28d61295f2bf7e8adfb1060b382e5381 inet: Sanitize inet{,6} protocol demux. there are not pretended hash tables for ipv4 or ipv6 protocol handler. Signed-off-by: Baker Zhang <Baker.kernel@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-02-05ipv4: Disallow non-namespace aware protocols to register.David S. Miller
All in-tree ipv4 protocol implementations are now namespace aware. Therefore all the run-time checks are superfluous. Reject registry of any non-namespace aware ipv4 protocol. Eventually we'll remove prot->netns_ok and this registry time check as well. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-11-15net: Add net protocol offload registration infrustructureVlad Yasevich
Create a new data structure for IPv4 protocols that holds GRO/GSO callbacks and a new array to track the protocols that register GRO/GSO. Signed-off-by: Vlad Yasevich <vyasevic@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-06-19inet: Sanitize inet{,6} protocol demux.David S. Miller
Don't pretend that inet_protos[] and inet6_protos[] are hashes, thay are just a straight arrays. Remove all unnecessary hash masking. Document MAX_INET_PROTOS. Use RAW_HTABLE_SIZE when appropriate. Reported-by: Ben Hutchings <bhutchings@solarflare.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2010-10-27net: add __rcu annotations to protocolEric Dumazet
Add __rcu annotations to : struct net_protocol *inet_protos struct net_protocol *inet6_protos And use appropriate casts to reduce sparse warnings if CONFIG_SPARSE_RCU_POINTER=y Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <eric.dumazet@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2010-09-08net: inet_add_protocol() can use cmpxchg()Eric Dumazet
Use cmpxchg() to get rid of spinlocks in inet_add_protocol() and friends. inet_protos[] & inet6_protos[] are moved to read_mostly section Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <eric.dumazet@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2010-07-12net/ipv4: EXPORT_SYMBOL cleanupsEric Dumazet
CodingStyle cleanups EXPORT_SYMBOL should immediately follow the symbol declaration. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <eric.dumazet@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2008-06-11net: remove CVS keywordsAdrian Bunk
This patch removes CVS keywords that weren't updated for a long time from comments. Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2007-04-25[IPV4]: align inet_protos[] on SMPEric Dumazet
As IPPROTO_TCP is 6, it makes sense to make sure inet_protos[] array is properly cache line aligned to avoid false sharing on SMP. c0680540 b peer_total c0680544 b inet_peer_unused_head c0680560 B inet_protos On i386 this example, we can see that inet_protos[IPPROTO_TCP] shares a potentially hot (and modified) cache line. 2007-02-14[PATCH] remove many unneeded #includes of sched.hTim Schmielau
After Al Viro (finally) succeeded in removing the sched.h #include in module.h recently, it makes sense again to remove other superfluous sched.h includes. There are quite a lot of files which include it but don't actually need anything defined in there. Presumably these includes were once needed for macros that used to live in sched.h, but moved to other header files in the course of cleaning it up. To ease the pain, this time I did not fiddle with any header files and only removed #includes from .c-files, which tend to cause less trouble. Compile tested against 2.6.20-rc2 and 2.6.20-rc2-mm2 (with offsets) on alpha, arm, i386, ia64, mips, powerpc, and x86_64 with allnoconfig, defconfig, allmodconfig, and allyesconfig as well as a few randconfigs on x86_64 and all configs in arch/arm/configs on arm. I also checked that no new warnings were introduced by the patch (actually, some warnings are removed that were emitted by unnecessarily included header files). 2005-08-29[TCP]: Move the tcp sock states to net/tcp_states.hArnaldo Carvalho de Melo
Lots of places just needs the states, not even linux/tcp.h, where this enum was, needs it. This speeds up development of the refactorings as less sources are rebuilt when things get moved from net/tcp.h. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
