The address range size calculation inside local_flush_tlb_kernel_range() is being truncated by a too small size variable holder on 64-bit systems. The truncated size can result in an erroneous tlbsize check that means we sit spinning inside a loop trying to flush a hige number of TLB entries. This is for all intents and purposes a system hang. Fix by using an appropriately sized valiable to hold the size. [Ralf: Greg's original patch submission identified the issue and fixed one instance in tlb-r4k.c but there there were several more. Outlining fixes the issue were on certain CPUs such as the R10000 family the delay loop would need an extra cycle if it overlaps a cacheline boundary. The rewrite also fixes build errors with GCC 4.4 which was changed in way incompatible with the kernel's inline assembly. Relying on pure C for computation of the delay value removes the need for explicit. The price we pay is a slight slowdown of the computation - to be fixed on another day. We cannot use CONFIG_64BIT for this in headers that are included from user space because CONFIG symbols are not available there. We also cannot do it inside of asm/types.h because some headers need the word size but cannot include types.h. The solution is to introduce a new header that defines both __BITS_PER_LONG for user space and BITS_PER_LONG for usage in the kernel. The asm-generic version falls back to 32 bit unless the architecture overrides it, which I did for all 64 bit platforms. This renames it to atomic-long.h so we have a place to add a truly generic atomic.h that can be used on all non-SMP systems. current asm-generic/page.h only contains the get_order function, and asm-generic/uaccess.h only implements unaligned accesses. This renames the file to getorder.h and uaccess-unaligned.h to make room for new page.h and uaccess.h file that will be usable by all simple (e.g. nommu) architectures.
