From d4430d62fa77208824a37fe6f85ab2831d274769 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Al Viro Date: Sun, 2 Mar 2008 09:09:22 -0500 Subject: [PATCH] beginning of methods conversion To keep the size of changesets sane we split the switch by drivers; to keep the damn thing bisectable we do the following: 1) rename the affected methods, add ones with correct prototypes, make (few) callers handle both. That's this changeset. 2) for each driver convert to new methods. *ALL* drivers are converted in this series. 3) kill the old (renamed) methods. Note that it _is_ a flagday; all in-tree drivers are converted and by the end of this series no trace of old methods remain. The only reason why we do that this way is to keep the damn thing bisectable and allow per-driver debugging if anything goes wrong. New methods: open(bdev, mode) release(disk, mode) ioctl(bdev, mode, cmd, arg) /* Called without BKL */ compat_ioctl(bdev, mode, cmd, arg) locked_ioctl(bdev, mode, cmd, arg) /* Called with BKL, legacy */ Signed-off-by: Al Viro --- drivers/block/xen-blkfront.c | 4 ++-- 1 file changed, 2 insertions(+), 2 deletions(-) (limited to 'drivers/block/xen-blkfront.c') diff --git a/drivers/block/xen-blkfront.c b/drivers/block/xen-blkfront.c index 1a50ae70f71..7efac80c8dd 100644 --- a/drivers/block/xen-blkfront.c +++ b/drivers/block/xen-blkfront.c @@ -1041,8 +1041,8 @@ static int blkif_release(struct inode *inode, struct file *filep) static struct block_device_operations xlvbd_block_fops = { .owner = THIS_MODULE, - .open = blkif_open, - .release = blkif_release, + .__open = blkif_open, + .__release = blkif_release, .getgeo = blkif_getgeo, .ioctl = blkif_ioctl, }; -- cgit v1.2.3-70-g09d2 From a63c848b04052acac653d6164160488d6c52ff9e Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Al Viro Date: Sun, 2 Mar 2008 10:23:47 -0500 Subject: [PATCH] switch xen Signed-off-by: Al Viro --- drivers/block/xen-blkfront.c | 19 +++++++++---------- 1 file changed, 9 insertions(+), 10 deletions(-) (limited to 'drivers/block/xen-blkfront.c') diff --git a/drivers/block/xen-blkfront.c b/drivers/block/xen-blkfront.c index 7efac80c8dd..b220c686089 100644 --- a/drivers/block/xen-blkfront.c +++ b/drivers/block/xen-blkfront.c @@ -156,11 +156,10 @@ static int blkif_getgeo(struct block_device *bd, struct hd_geometry *hg) return 0; } -static int blkif_ioctl(struct inode *inode, struct file *filep, +static int blkif_ioctl(struct block_device *bdev, fmode_t mode, unsigned command, unsigned long argument) { - struct blkfront_info *info = - inode->i_bdev->bd_disk->private_data; + struct blkfront_info *info = bdev->bd_disk->private_data; int i; dev_dbg(&info->xbdev->dev, "command: 0x%x, argument: 0x%lx\n", @@ -1014,16 +1013,16 @@ static int blkfront_is_ready(struct xenbus_device *dev) return info->is_ready; } -static int blkif_open(struct inode *inode, struct file *filep) +static int blkif_open(struct block_device *bdev, fmode_t mode) { - struct blkfront_info *info = inode->i_bdev->bd_disk->private_data; + struct blkfront_info *info = bdev->bd_disk->private_data; info->users++; return 0; } -static int blkif_release(struct inode *inode, struct file *filep) +static int blkif_release(struct gendisk *disk, fmode_t mode) { - struct blkfront_info *info = inode->i_bdev->bd_disk->private_data; + struct blkfront_info *info = disk->private_data; info->users--; if (info->users == 0) { /* Check whether we have been instructed to close.
