From 7cd33ad23ec41d685902159be8b2c6552fab8bd0 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Christoph Hellwig Date: Wed, 18 Aug 2010 05:29:14 -0400 Subject: reiserfs: replace barriers with explicit flush / FUA usage Switch to the WRITE_FLUSH_FUA flag for log writes and remove the EOPNOTSUPP detection for barriers. Note that reiserfs had a fairly different code path for barriers before as it wa the only filesystem actually making use of them. The new code always uses the old non-barrier codepath and just sets the WRITE_FLUSH_FUA explicitly for the journal commits. To issue cache flushes or barriers asynchronously the caller needs to set up a bio by itself with a completion callback to move the asynchronous state machine ahead. So drop the BLKDEV_IFL_WAIT flag that is always specified when calling blkdev_issue_* and also remove the now unused flags argument to blkdev_issue_flush and blkdev_issue_zeroout. For blkdev_issue_discard we need to keep it for the secure discard flag, which gains a more descriptive name and loses the bitops vs flag confusion.
