2012-04-04S5P: SYSMMU: Remove System MMU device driverKyongHo Cho
This patch removes System MMU device driver from arm/plat-s5p tree for transition to implement IOMMU driver. Although controlling System MMU in this removing driver is similar to the new IOMMU driver in the following patch, the new one is almost rewrite of this driver and there is no benefit to moving the driver file from arch/arm/ to drivers/iommu. 2012-01-06Merge branch 'driver-core-next' into Linux 3.2Greg Kroah-Hartman
This resolves the conflict in the arch/arm/mach-s3c64xx/s3c6400.c file, and it fixes the build error in the arch/x86/kernel/microcode_core.c file, that the merge did not catch. The microcode_core.c patch was provided by Stephen Rothwell <sfr@canb.auug.org.au> who was invaluable in the merge issues involved with the large sysdev removal process in the driver-core tree. 2011-12-18ARM: 7205/2: sched_clock: allow sched_clock to be selected at runtimeMarc Zyngier
sched_clock() is yet another blocker on the road to the single image. This patch implements an idea by Russell King: http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-omap/msg49561.html Instead of asking the platform to implement both sched_clock() itself and the rollover callback, simply register a read() function, and let the ARM code care about sched_clock() itself, the conversion to ns and the rollover. sched_clock() uses this read() function as an indirection to the platform code. If the platform doesn't provide a read(), the code falls back to the jiffy counter (just like the default sched_clock). This allow some simplifications and possibly some footprint gain when multiple platforms are compiled in. Among the drawbacks, the removal of the *_fixed_sched_clock optimization which could negatively impact some platforms (sa1100, tegra, versatile and omap). Tested on 11MPCore, OMAP4 and Tegra. 2011-11-15ARM: gic: allow GIC to support non-banked setupsMarc Zyngier
The GIC support code is heavily using the fact that hardware implementations are exposing banked registers. Unfortunately, it looks like at least one GIC implementation (EXYNOS) offers both the distributor and the CPU interfaces at different addresses, depending on the CPU. This problem is solved by allowing the distributor and CPU interface addresses to be per-cpu variables for the platforms that require it. The EXYNOS code is updated not to mess with the GIC internals while handling interrupts, and struct gic_chip_data is back to being private. The DT binding for the gic is updated to allow an optional "cpu-offset" value, which is used to compute the various base addresses. Finally, a new config option (GIC_NON_BANKED) is used to control this feature, so the overhead is only present on kernels compiled with support for EXYNOS. Tested on Origen (EXYNOS4) and Panda (OMAP4). 2011-11-06ARM: EXYNOS: Add ARCH_EXYNOS and reorganize arch/arm/mach-exynosKukjin Kim
The arch/arm/mach-exynos4 directory (CONFIG_ARCH_EXYNOS4) has made for plaforms based on EXYNOS4 SoCs. But since upcoming Samsung's SoCs such as EXYNOS5 (ARM Cortex A15) can reuse most codes in current mach-exynos4, one mach-exynos directory will be used for them. This patch changes to CONFIG_ARCH_EXYNOS (arch/arm/mach-exynos) but keeps original CONFIG_ARCH_EXYNOS4 in mach-exynos/Kconfig to avoid changing in driver side.
