2015-01-09rtlwifi: Move macro definitions to coreLarry Finger
Several of the drivers still were defining their own copies of various macros. These are all moved into the core. Signed-off-by: Larry Finger <Larry.Finger@lwfinger.net> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>
2015-01-09rtlwifi: rtl8723be: Convert driver to use common DM table initializationLarry Finger
Convert driver rtl8723be to use routine rtl_dm_diginit(). Signed-off-by: Larry Finger <Larry.Finger@lwfinger.net> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>
2015-01-09rtlwifi: rtl8192c-common: Convert driver to use common DM table initializationLarry Finger
These changes convert both rtl8192ce and rtl8192cu to use the new routine. Some additional definitions are needed in the core, thus several of the headers for other drivers are affected, but no other executable code is changed. Signed-off-by: Larry Finger <Larry.Finger@lwfinger.net> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>
2015-01-09rtlwifi: Create new routine to initialize the DM tablesLarry Finger
Each of the drivers contains a routine that initializes the dm_digtable member of the driver's private area. As a first step toward reducing the size of the drivers, a copy of this driver is created in rtlwifi, and the definitions of the parameters are moved there. Signed-off-by: Larry Finger <Larry.Finger@lwfinger.net> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>
2015-01-09rtlwifi: rtl8723be: Improve modinfo outputLarry Finger
The description of the power-save variables for this driver is not as clear as for the others. The wording is changed to match the others. Signed-off-by: Larry Finger <Larry.Finger@lwfinger.net> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>
2015-01-09rtlwifi: Unify variable naming for all driversLarry Finger
Some drivers refer to a particular quantity in the driver's private are by one name, while others use a different name. These differences are removed. Signed-off-by: Larry Finger <Larry.Finger@lwfinger.net> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>
2014-12-24rtlwifi: rtl8723be: phy.c: Remove unused functionRickard Strandqvist
Remove the function rtl8723be_phy_get_txpower_level() that is not used anywhere. This was partially found by using a static code analysis program called cppcheck. Signed-off-by: Rickard Strandqvist <rickard_strandqvist@spectrumdigital.se> Acked-by: Larry Finger <Larry.Finger@lwfinger.net> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>
2014-12-24rtlwifi: rtl8821ae: Switch to use common rate control routineLarry Finger
With this change, all of the drivers now use the common routine. As this driver has VHT capability, an additional parameter is needed, thus all the drivers had to be modified. Signed-off-by: Larry Finger <Larry.Finger@lwfinger.net> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>
2014-12-24rtlwifi: rtl8723be: Switch to use common rate-mapping routineLarry Finger
This driver currently has its owm version of this routine that duplicates a routine in rtlwifi. Signed-off-by: Larry Finger <Larry.Finger@lwfinger.net> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>
2014-11-24net: wireless: rtlwifi: Do not always include drivers in obj-mAndreas Ruprecht
In four of the rtlwifi drivers, the Makefile contains superfluous statements indicating the compilation of the driver as an LKM regardless of the corresponding Kconfig option. If the corresponding option is set to 'y', the build system will then see the object file in obj-m and obj-y, which leads to a compilation as a built-in only. Even though this leads to the desired behavior, the unconditional appearance in obj-m is confusing for someone reading the Makefile. This patch removes the superfluous Makefile statements. rtl8821ae: Use common cmd_send_packet A locking problem was found in routine _rtl92ee_cmd_send_packet() that led to system freezes. Upon inspection, several drivers had the same problem; however, the routines all used the same code. The common code has been moved into rtlwifi. 2014-09-30rtlwifi: rtl8723be: Update driver to match Realtek release of 06/28/14Larry Finger
This patch updates the driver to match the latest Realtek release, and it is an important step in getting the internal code source at Realtek to match the code in the kernel. The primary reason for this is to make it easier for Realtek to maintain the kernel source without requiring an intermediate like me. In this process of merging the two source repositories, there are a lot of changes in both, and this commit is rather large. 2014-09-26rtlwifi: Update power-save routines for 062814 driverLarry Finger
Realtek released a new version of the drivers on 06/28/2014. This patch implements the new power-save code. These changes also force corresponding changes in the drivers. Signed-off-by: Larry Finger <Larry.Finger@lwfinger.net> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
2014-08-12PCI: Remove DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE macro useBenoit Taine
We should prefer `struct pci_device_id` over `DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE` to meet kernel coding style guidelines. This issue was reported by checkpatch. A simplified version of the semantic patch that makes this change is as follows (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/): // <smpl> @@ identifier i; declarer name DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE; initializer z; @@ - DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE(i) + const struct pci_device_id i[] = z; // </smpl> [bhelgaas: add semantic patch] Signed-off-by: Benoit Taine <benoit.taine@lip6.fr> Signed-off-by: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas@google.com>

Unused as configure_filter takes care of setting/clearing RCR_AAP. 2014-04-30rtlwifi: rtl8723be: disable MSI interrupts modeAdam Lee
94010fa0dd07e8b904e7c6b6589f15573008ab15 ("rtlwifi: add MSI interrupts mode support") introduced MSI interrupts mode support, which seemed safe enough with RTL8188EE and RTL8723BE as RealTek's testing results, but some users reported their RTL8188EE modules could not connect to any wireless network after the MSI mode was enabled by Ubuntu 14.04. So, let's fallback to pin-based mode until rtlwifi's MSI support get good compatibility. 2014-03-13rtlwifi: rtl8723be: Fix array dimension problemsLarry Finger
Commit a619d1abe20c leads to the following static checker warning: drivers/net/wireless/rtlwifi/rtl8723be/phy.c:667 _rtl8723be_store_tx_power_by_rate() error: buffer overflow 'rtlphy->tx_power_by_rate_offset[band]' 4 <= 5 This warning arises because the code is testing the indices for the wrong maximum values.
